Sweet Scoops Ice Cream — Restaurant in Essex

With the nice weather lately, I’ve been on a mission to try out new ice cream shops, and I’m so glad I stumbled upon Sweet Scoops! This was my first time visiting, and it was such a great experience.

I ordered from their Classic Sundae options and went with a large Strawberry Sundae — and it did not disappoint! The strawberry ice cream was creamy, refreshing, and packed with real strawberry flavor. Topped with whipped cream and that perfect cherry on top, it was the perfect sweet treat to enjoy on a warm day.

Sweet Scoops has a fun, casual vibe. There’s no indoor seating; you order from the window and can grab a spot on one of the nearby benches to relax and enjoy your ice cream. It’s simple, classic, and perfect for soaking up the sunshine while savoring a delicious dessert.

The service was friendly and quick, even with a steady line of customers. You can tell this place is a local favorite.

Sweet Scoops is definitely a spot I’ll be revisiting — great ice cream, great outdoor setup, and a perfect place to enjoy a summer afternoon....

Very disappointing. The creemee selection is very limited (3 flavors), the hard ice cream (Gifford is sub part at best), and they are way too expensive. Also charge extra for using a card... For the price, I expected I could eat the entire thing, including the waffle cone. Sadly that is not the case because the cone has glued paper on it, so unless you enjoy eating glue, paper or both - it becomes inedible half way through. Not sure why people go here, even the staff seem miserable being there as they all act unpleasant. Will never go back there.

Its definitely worth traveling father to Village scoop in Colchester or Al's French fries in...

Super bummed because I usually love sweet scoops but this year they have been a disappointment. I’ve ordered peanut butter pie and toasted coconut on various occasions this summer and each time it has not been Giffords ice cream. The peanut butter pie has some sort of fudge ripple (Giffords does not have any chocolate in it) and the toasted coconut was plain and did not have the chocolate covered coconut pieces that Giffords has. It seems to me that they aren’t serving Giffords ice cream this year and are just substituting it with a different brand. I wish they would just be upfront and honest about what...
