Wow.
Huge fail on service tonight.
I so enjoy this place, but the young woman bartender was so lazy and/or entitled on taco Tuesday. After having seen the specials on Wednesday a couple times, finally made it but will not do this again. Was ready to walk out and go to Rear End pub around the corner.
Brought 12yo child here after grocery shopping. We sat at a table and bartender served some people at the bar, shoved some food in her face, washed some glasses 6 feet from us, puttered and tidied before she shouted over the bar asking if we wanted a drink.
She brought our drinks and left... I finally went to the bar and asked if the kitchen is still open. She finally was able to bring herself over and advised she's only one on, and they don't usually do table service. There are only 4 tables in the front.
Why didn't she tell us when we came in?
I've got a child here; and, even if not, shouldn't it be a clue that I'm not here to just drink?
People there, but not that busy; her priority was to socialize w customers rather than help the cook, who brought out our food. I grew up in the service industry; I know when someone is overextended. She was not even close.
No napkins or flatwear; I got us some bar napkins. No requests for refills on drinks.
People bringing their dirty dishes to the bar. Other tables bussed by the cook.
Food was wonderful; brisket tacos and chicken tacos. Brisket chili was good but a bit sweet. 1 star for the experience as the food was wonderful and seemed I couldn't leave a review w/o leaving a star.
There are tons of places for dinner on a weeknight. Service during days when I usually bring my child is generally spot on.
Apparently, not on...
Read moreThis is the 2nd time we’ve had Porky's. (Side Note: The guy who took my order over the phone was VERY nice and polite. He was great!)
So. First Trip to Porky’s: 10/10. So good. Couldn’t believe we haven’t found this sooner. Couldn’t wait to make the drive to try again.
This 2nd time… disappointed is the only thing that comes to mind. Ordered 2 items: Potato Pancakes w/ Applesauce and 12 (plain) Smoked Wings w/ a side of Ranch.
• Potato Pancakes: Not what was expected by any means. What I received was extremely soggy hashbrowns (actually felt like they were microwaved). I know traveling in a styrofoam togo box can cause condensation and they can become soft… but these are almost RAW. They’re frozen breakfast hashbrowns (with maybe some seasoning)… definitely NOT Potato Pancakes.
• 12 Smoked Wings (plain): Flavor is okay. Probably would have been better if they weren’t EXTREMELY overcooked, over-smoked, & tough to eat. The chicken itself is very dry and you get maybe 2 bites per wing.
(We did get everything we ordered, which was awesome! Usually places forget items.. so that was a plus.)
Overall: In comparison to last visit and other reviews, it is apparent that consistency is an ongoing issue. I do wish you guys the best & can figure out the kinks to come back stronger! We will be back try...
Read moreSaturday 3/29… Highly disappointed. I frequent porkys quite often. Tonight I was ignored from the moment I walked in the door. The bartender made eye contact with me when I walked in and chose to spend 10 minutes talking to a guy at the bar (who already had a drink) and left me sitting there. There weren’t many people in the bar. I had to get up and walk over to her to be acknowledged. Then she was straight up rude when I told her I had a take out order. I didn’t realize that picking up food was an inconvenience for the staff. I always tip well when I pick up. At least 20%. I got my food and when I got home the whole 40 dollar order was wrong. They don’t toss their smoked wings in sauce and they were drenched. And not even in one of the sauces I asked for on the side. Items missing. Disappointing to get home and get the wrong order. Also be prepared for them to be out of menu items constantly. Every time you call they’ll answer the phone “porkys and just so you know we’re out of this and this and that and that”. Not that they care, but I definitely will not...
