I had such a terrible experience when I went to this place for a meeting with a colleague yesterday. We were there from around 10:05am-11:10am. I don't know what is going on with the staff at this location but they are the most lazy pretentious terrible group of employees I've seen in a long time. Literally the worst customer service I've received in Eugene in the 4 years I've lived here. I just moved to this side of town and this company's coffee is pretty ok so I figure we'd give this place a try. What a terrible idea.
My colleague waited at the counter for around 7 minutes with no line and 4 people working behind the counter and I guess the entire staff was too busy cleaning already clean counters and chatting amongst themselves for 1 person to help my friend.
We had to get the meeting started so he just sat back down and we did what we had to get done. When we got up to leave I asked to get the restroom code. Mind you my colleague and I were pretty dressed down but you can see clearly we're not going to shoot up or bathe in your restroom. I was told by the guy working behind the calendar that I needed to buy something before I got the restroom code. When I explained we did wait an extensive amount of time at the counter to purchase something but could not get service, the guy actually argued with me that, "no it was only 2 minutes." No two buck Chuck Taylor it wasn't. And now you're telling me I cant pee because you're terrible at your job.
I encourage the general manager or owner to review the security footage if they have any between 10am-11:15am on 4/11/24 and please do either get your employees some intensive training in how to prioritize customer service work appropriately or fire the members of your staff that were there at that time yesterday and just start over because I promise you, if they behaved like this once when it wasn't even busy, they do it all the time.
Too bad. This place seemed like a decent coffee shop for my coworkers and friends and I to meet at that is close to my new place. I would have given them a decent amount of business. Now not only will I never go back ever again to ANY Black Rock Coffee, I will tell all my friends not to as well.
Please someone train the darn staff over there to not be such discriminatory lazy...
Read moreThis is a really hard review to leave, but I think it is very important for the owners to know what is happening at this location. I’ve been a solid customer ever since its opening. The staff that opened this location WERE AMAZING! Really! They were so professional! So happy to just be alive and doing this thing we call work. Management changed sadly, and that group of staff all left. It was like day and night when management left this location a few months ago. The vibe was so different approaching drive thru. Instantly, the new manager and some of the staff were… Negative. Silent. Awkward. I thought it was me until word from the grape vine came in that the staff are overworked at this location, and as a result they really aren’t afraid to show it to you. Or at least to me. I just hope things get better for them, because that’s no way to live 8 hours a day. The last comment I’ll leave in this review is how unprofessional Angel was with me. Personally. All I know is this, everyone at this location used to be really fun and just, chill. Normal, and Angel was in that group. I always tried treating him the same as others because I didn’t want to make anyone feel a certain type of way. I found Angel to just be too friendly, for me. I feel like once I didn’t reciprocate that energy back to him, I began to get dirty looks when approaching the drive thru window. I was shocked, but I kept my composure and just went about my business. I then was served a lukewarm drink and I was shocked, the coffee had literally cooled down to just luke warm and he served it to me as if it was fresh off the press. I started noticing huge chunks near the half of my drink. A few chunks is normal, this was different. I know his behavior is wrong. I’m aware of that. He now knows his behavior can catch up to him publicly. We all are aware of that now. Be professional, be kind, and if you really don’t like being there at that business you can always go find another job. No one is forcing you to work there. When the staff go out and get coffee they have a positive experience: Give back...
Read moreWent here this morning and got a strawberry blonde because it was hotter than it has been for awhile and strawberry sounded good. I’m sure it is pretty tasty, but I couldn’t tell you as they must have forgotten to put the strawberry part in my drink or were being lazy and dgaf…so I pretty much just got coffee blended with cream and that was it…zero strawberry flavor at all….and my daughters “bagel sandwich “ was actually a muffin they nuked and handed it to me pretty much smushed in between two paper towels…totally floppy and she wanted nothing to do with it so I gave it to my dog…he thought it was banging though so 4 stars from the pup. The only reason I gave two stars is because the girls working were cute, but I’ll stick to my other coffee places because I actually get what I pay for where here I pretty much paid 20 bucks plus tip for a smoothie because the other two items...
