This place was recommended to me yesterday and after looking at the menu and reviews, I literally ran here. Jk no running here, but definitely got a big spread of their food for dinner last night and let me tell you:

IT. IS. INCREDIBLE.

First off, the owner is absolutely lovely. She is so obviously thrilled to share her love of traditional Indian food with others and genuinely cares about her guests. My ordering experience ended up being a great conversation about the food, her prized item, and how she could alter almost any dish for dietary restrictions. On top of the incredible start, she also gave samples of the food as she was cooking it to ensure the spice level was where I wanted. Due to the food being so incredible, we unfortunately forgot to take pictures, but what we lack for in photos we make up for in detail!

The samosas - hands down THE BEST samosas I have ever had. This is the owner's "flagship" food if you will and is a true flavor explosion. If you get these, you'll probably eat them in the car on the way home, as is your right. 10/10.

The garlic naan - I genuinely debated on door dashing more of these to my house tonight to eat with my leftovers. My greatest regret in this life is not doing so. So soft, so fluffy, so garlicky. If you think you have ordered enough garlic naan, add another order. Trust me on this. 10/10.

Chickpea and potato curry - absolutely stellar flavor and goes so incredibly well with the rice and naan. The potatoes are cooked to perfection and the nutty flavor of the Chickpeas really shine through. Bonus is that it was able to be made vegan! 10/10

Butter chicken - listen to me: I would commit crimes for this dish. IT. IS. INCREDIBLE. And the mint chutney on top elevates it to heights previously thought impossible. I agree with other reviews that the sauce is not as thick as other places, but it works so well. Get this dish. 15/10

Side salad - the owner included a free little "side salad" that contained a bunch of chopped up veggies. This not only went incredibly well with all of the dishes, but was even a good standalone side. My favorite combo was with the samosas. I added a bit of salt to it for ny personal taste, but genuinely a great little addition. 10/10

Sea salt Lassi- okay so here's the thing. Turns out, I had no idea what lassi was when I ordered this. In my head, I thought it was always sweet (solely because I did zero research and did not ask), so when this was not sweet I was very thrown off. While it is not my cup of tea, I do see the appeal, particularly when it's hot out.

Overall, an exemplary experience that I will be repeating (and...

While for the food quality and sitting outside arrangement I would give 4/5, total would be 2/5. At the end of the eating period, I was busy in a phone call for sometime (while my family was still eating. While my family finished eating, probably it was around 5-10 mins more) and all other sitting area were unoccupied, the lady was speaking with other member in her own language stating, “they are just sitting, talking in phone and not paying!!”. While I would have appreciated it in a friendly way, they were talking in ill-manner with slang words (in their own language). Probably they thought I do not understand their mother language (hindi); but I understood it. Later I said to the male owner, it’s not the way you should behave with your customers (he mentioned it was misunderstanding).

Update: I have seen the owners response. I would like to clarify; “they never asked us to pay even once; writing 5 times is somewhat extreme. I understand that it could be hot in the food cart, but you did not need to stay inside it. You could have explained the situation professionally one time and we could have gladly paid and left. Plus at the end I went inside your store to pay not in your cart. I don’t know what asking for more and more means. I ordered exactly the thing in the menu and just requested clarification in the spicy level. Regarding the 45 mins, if you count from the time I arrived to the time you brought the food, we ate and left, I can say yes you are correct (i had a toddler and it takes time to feed a kid). But still 45 mins past we finished eating, more lies there. I am from your culture; so was able to understand your language. Stop playing the victim card by saying I am spreading hatred. Read my review; I have not spread negativity, gave good feedback aa well as negative as per my experience. Rather than replying falsely to customers review, you should be accountable and take it as a positive feedback to...

Was driving around debating what to get for dinner. My main goal if I didn't figure something else out was to go to the Gotcha Burger on Chambers, I was driving down 8th Street and noticed a food cart in front of New frontier that I hadn't been aware of with "Authentic Indian food" on the side of it. Not in that town often but I guess they've been there about a year and a half. As a fan of both consuming and cooking Indian food, I decided to alter my plans and check that out instead.

Definitely was not disappointed. I got the curry chicken with a 7 out of 10 spice level and the nice lady who was working give me a little sample before she was finished to make sure it was going to be an appropriate spice seller for me. While I was waiting someone came to pick up a to-go order and she also gave him a little extra side container of a spice blend in case they needed to make it a little hotter. I felt that was really nice touch and good service. The rice was also nicely seasoned. I'm not sure if it's always the case but mine came with a little garden veggie side salad of like bell peppers and onions and cucumbers etc, that was a nice little surprise and gave some nice cooling contrast to the spicy meal.

I also got a side of garlic naan which was good but if I'm going to be 100% honest was a little overly dense and chewy for my tastes. Not quite as good as the nann I would get at Royal India or Evergreen but still good for the price and happy to have another slightly cheaper option for Indian food in town.

Overall very pleased and will definitely be back to try other things...

Have tried the butter chicken, chicken curry, and samosa chat and all were delicious. The butter chicken here is different from others I’ve had- much less cream and more salty, savory, and heavily spiced. Honestly tasted a lot like the chicken curry with the addition of a small bit of cream. As others have reviewed, it is more watery than usual restaurant butter chicken, but they say they are more home-style Indian, and I really like that. They certainly don’t shy away from the seasonings. Total flavor explosions. The rice is fantastic as well, and the entrees came with a little dish of chopped veggies that were a perfect complement. The samosa chat was almost drowning in flavor - i felt like it could use some sort of plain crunchy topping to help balance it out, but it’s still yummy as is too. Great price for lots of food, and it’s organic! This may be my new favorite Indian place in Eugene, particularly for value. My husband and I can share one entree with some naan and we are full and content. Update: tried the aloo tiki and it was kind of plain. Had samosas again and they were even better than I remembered. Go for the samosas !!!

If you are looking for organic, homemade indian food in Eugene, this is THE SPOT! We walked up to the food cart and was greeted by the owner of the cart a truly sweet lady. Since it was so cold and there wasn’t many people she made a special meal for us! We got an order of the chili paneer, saag paneer and dal with her homemade salad and rice. Her food is beaming with love that filled our soul with warmth on the cold Eugene day. While she was making our food she recommended us to explore the little market next door to keep warm. As she was making our second dish we got to talking and found out she makes her own paneer and opened a few months ago! This is the perfect place for warm and hot indian food, a wonderful conversation, and a great meal. If you walk up the food cart and she isn’t inside try the grocery store, or call the grocery store ahead to place your order! I would argue BEST INDIAN FOOD IN EUGENE! Support your local small businesses and your soul will thank you! We will be back again and again!

So if you are in to trying something new, definitely try this place. It is one of my favorite places to go not only for the food but for the owner too she makes you feel so welcomed. She puts love into every dish Me and my wife and our kids come up here. She knows us by name and ask us every time about our kids. She is one of my favorite people. She is so genuine and caring. We truly love her. We don’t even order off the menu. We tell her what type of stuff we would like and she makes a special dish and every time we’ve done that she has nailed it. I truly recommend this place. She has became a staple in our life so let’s give a big shout out !!!!!
