This particular location has had some little improvements in the last couple of years. They added a new soda machine and cooler with a variety of canned and bottled drinks, for example.
In my experience, this location is kept clean and tidy. There is outdoor seating as well as plenty of indoor seating.
The staff is consistent, at least during the week days - this is when I visit the store, so I cannot vouch for evening or weekends... They are efficient, friendly and quick to answer questions. Generally, food is ready for pick up in 10-15 minutes if you order ahead. They have a drive through out back for folks who have ordered ahead.
Burrito Boy shouldn't be compared to the specialty taco restaurants around town, etc. I have seen some people try to compare the two but that is unfair to both restaurants as they are essentially different things. Although Burrito Boy's food is good, some dishes very good, this is more of a fast casual restaurant compared to many other Mexican restaurants in town. Nothing wrong with that - they are filling a particular demand and I am glad they are!
I particularly enjoy the carnitas nachos and the Golden Boy burrito. I don't know enough about the restaurant business to say whether or not this observation is really correct, but some of their dishes do seem a tad pricey. However, I know that there are generally slim margins in the restaurant business. On top of that, they're local! I think it's worth it to get a fast, tasty dish or burrito that really...
Read moreI've been coming to burrito boy for nearly 20 years. Over the last couple decades prices have gone up and portions have gotten smaller, as they have everywhere. In my opinion one of the draws of a Mexican places like this is that your going to get a pretty good deal and a lot of food, that's not really the case lately. They have recently changed the menu and the way in which they do business feels different, almost, homogenized. Seems like they are trying to take on a more corporate image and with that a more limited menu with very little flexibility. In the last 20 years or so, options have grown locally, especially for choices in Mexican food, maybe that's where my next point is coming from. I used to LOVE this place I would eat here maybe 3-5 times a week. It was $5.25 for a wet burrito with guacamole added. That same burrito now is $9.50 which seems like a bug jump. Perhaps it's keeping with the times, although the portions have gotten a lot smaller as well which would make the price increase unreasonable. All in all I still eat here but I don't enjoy it nearly as much and a big part of that is it costs roughly $20 to feed my wife and myself dinner at a simple...
Read moreReally confused. I came to grab a burrito in the drive thru and they have a bell you ring for service. I didn't see the person standing inside so I rang the bell two times (with time in between). The woman opened the window and shut it without saying anything. When she came to the window, she was extremely angry. She was short tempered and tried to tell me she was on the phone and I rang the bell twice. Well, I couldn't see anyone in there and didn't know if anyone heard me. I asked her why she was talking to me like that, so unkind and impatient. She told me to "order or have a nice day". I asked her again why she was being so unkind and she proceeded to shut the window in my face and not allow me to order. I have never been so disrespected - I did nothing wrong. I have no idea why someone would do that or how this is acceptable. I waited for 14 minutes "out front" while they parked me and served 5 other people on the drive through.
What happened to actual good service? Horrible service - disappointed people treat people this way and get...
