Cookies Cookies — Restaurant in Eugene

I don’t normally write reviews but I had to. I special ordered cookies for my son’s birthday. They were terrible. I spoke on the phone with Karen twice, text and sent pictures. She knew what I wanted and assured me she could do it, it was not complicated. After calling me three times to change when the cookies would be ready just hours before the agreed upon pick up time I was told they could have them ready 30 minutes late. When I quickly looked at the cookies in the shop I told her they were not what I was expecting. She told me they took a lot of time and were close to what I wanted. Feeling guilty I paid for the preordered cookies and went to my car. After looking at them again and seeing how awful they were I went back in to talk to her. They cookies were huge squares and rectangles instead of sugar cookie cut outs she specifically said they would do and with the wrong colors. I was told it took a lot of time and was hard to do more colors. The frosting, not royal icing like agreed upon was sloppy. When I told her how unhappy I was she said she did her best and offered me $5. She also said I should be happy because she should have charged me more for the cookies. I told her that would have been fine. I would have rather paid more for cookies I wanted instead of $42 for cookies I threw in the trash. She acted as though she did me a favor instead of fulfilling an order that was being paid for. She also told me it would have been different if I came into the shop instead of calling placing the blame on me. When I questioned how that would have made a difference she didn’t have an answer. They didn’t care about my order or special occasion. They ran out of time and quickly threw together garbage for me. To top it off the cookies didn’t even taste good. Do NOT order cookies here! i dont know i have heard great things about these cookies. so i got 1 choc marshmallow and 1 frosted sugar cookie. what i noticed right off the bat was the frosting was probably 4 x the amt of the cookie. the cookie was very thin, i would say a little thicker than a crepe. but the icing was 4 times more. i was a little hesitant but hey i like icing more than cake. but afterwards my stomach was turning. and a few hrs later i was throwing up my spleen. i had never thrown up that much in my whole life. i felt awful, like death warmed over. ok so the next day i thought maybe it was just that cookie kind. i used to have mrs field's choc marshmallow cookies that we loved and never caused me an issue. so i thought the choc marshmallow would be ok.ate breakfast, lunch no issue. for dinner i had what i have had always with no issue, a grilled cheese. still feel ok, ha the choc marshmallow one which again the cookie was super thin like a crepe and the icing was again 4 times as much. mrs field's were so much better. nice good size cookie and a thin but enough amt of marshmallow and choc on top. these were the opposite. anyway this one did the same thing. afterwards my stomach felt like i drank battery acid. tried not to throw up. hate throwing up. but i woked up with an urgent need to throw up. again i have never thrown up that much. both times as i was i tasted the sweetness of the cookies. it was awful. and to admit this they werent that good. i mean seemed like all frosting and not enough cookie for a balance. will i ever buy again..not on your life. i dont have food allergies or anything i cant eat. so i think it was just too much sweetness and not enough cookie...miss mrs field's cookie shop..those...

I placed my cookie order 3 weeks before I needed them. The communication from the get go was bad, I always had to call her and could never get a call back. I had texted the owner and her husband multiple times, all of the messages showing as read. I never got a response text back but did receive confirmation from the owner that she received the pictures I sent and could do the design I wanted when I called her. The day of, I went to pick up the cookies and she was closed, inside the store with the doors locked during posted business hours. Finally able to get her to answer the door she was extremely rude telling me “you cancelled your order!” Which I never did. I spoke with her 3 times over the phone confirming the order and pick up date. She accused me of not picking up her phone calls and saying my voicemail doesn’t work, I showed her I never once received a call from her. Finally come to find out, after her blaming me for 5 minutes, she wrote down the wrong phone number. 1: she had my phone number in texts to both her and her husbands phone and even pulled up the text thread confirming the cookie design, so that’s a terrible excuse. And 2: her not being able to reach me by phone is not me cancelling my order. She offered to make the cookies, one design not 3, and charged me the same price. She delivered the cookies after the event ended, and the cookies were an absolute mess. I demanded a refund because I never took the cookies due to the event being over, and still have yet to get a response back from her about my refund multiple days later.
