Very good food.
Awful service. So poor that for the 1st time in over 20 years I didn’t leave a tip.
Even with bad service I usually pay 15% as a rule. Didn’t this time.
Should have known it wasn’t going to be great service when we stood in the entryway next to the sign that says “Please wait to be seated” and were ignored for several minutes before being told we can sit anywhere.
When I gestured to the sign and stated we had been waiting as instructed the woman just made a face and didn’t say anything. Weird.
The restaurant was maybe 1/4 full. We chose to sit next to the sushi belt.
Our waitress did come and get our drink order quickly and then asked if we had any questions or wanted to order off the menu. I said we are just indecisive, maybe order from the menu a little later.
We ate 6 of the plates from the conveyor belt & I had a hot tea. We wanted to order off the menu but were ignored. After over 10 min of sitting there AFTER eating all our food, my teen suggested we go somewhere else and just get some dessert.
At that point we just wanted our check. I got tired of waiting & finally stood up and went to the cashier station.
Sidebar: There was a customer in front of us who came to pickup a to-go order and she was rather upset. She had apparently paid and come back for her food and it wasn’t ready and sounded like they were confused and trying to charge her again.
The cashier woman talked to that lady, and then rather than acknowledge my presence with idk, I’ll be with you in a min? She went and helped 2 other customers.
When she came back she asked do you have a check? I said no we’ve been waiting a long time and were ignored. I told her what we had, she went and looked at where we had been sitting to confirm.
At no point was there any, “thank you for your patience”, or “sorry to keep you waiting”. Nothing. All staff seemed unconcerned with unhappy customers.
So, when the machine prompted me for a tip I was more than annoyed. I hit zero.
It was well priced, we only paid $24. I’d really wanted 3 dishes to go from the menu. But like I said, we got tired of waiting.
We had both watched the workers walking back and forth, to and fro, studiously avoiding eye contact.
And I observed them being very attentive to a few of the other customers.
Idk why they behaved like that.
I might go again only because the food was delicious. I can only recommend the sushi belt because that is all we ate. :-(
Just don’t go with any expectation of...
Read moreSushi is delicious and there's usually a lot of options. It can be hit or miss because it's a belt, and the popular ones can go fast and then there's just cali rolls and such. But for the price, especially compared to other places that are expensive, it's worth it, and there's always something good to eat. The loss of two stars is the staff. They, for the most part, are not serving you much food. Duh, sushi belt. But I've been here dozens of times and sometimes I get water, sometimes I don't. Forget about a soda, I think I've been able to order 2 in past visits. I'm not comfortable yelling at a waitress to come help me. I'm not that person. But when it's slow, and they are in a pair or three just folding silverware and chatting at the front desk, I get a bit annoyed that I don't have water. It's kinda nice to have a beverage with your meal. I'm even willing to bypass ordering a soda when I know you're busy, and I don't need the diabeetus. It also seems to be partly due to their somewhat lack of a system. Sometimesyou seat yourself, sometimes not. And there seems to be no way of them knowing who sat down when, when you are not seated by staff. It's odd. I'm simply trying to draw attention to this so it can be fixed, and then this place would be a well oiled machine.
That said, when I do get water, I'm happy and I recommend this for anyone who loves food on a budget, plus no wait for food unless you order off menu. You can literally sit down (if there's no line, it's a popular place) and commence stuffing yourself as fast as your little fingers can grab a plate. Definitely...
Read moreThe appearance from the outside isn't very appealing, but once you're inside you feel comfortable. It's very quiet, no harsh buzzing from electricity, the most noise are from upset children but there is a lacking when it comes to comfortable seating away from other people and the brightness of outside. No strong scents, noises, or bright lights other then sunlight from the windows. The food has low texture and from a very sensitive eater I was able to eat a lot before finding something that bothered my sensory to much. Everyone is so nice, and everything is very safely wrapped. Most food isn't touching each other, and not hard to separate if it is. Most of the drinks do not have carbonation, and are sealed in cans or bottles. If you're not a sushi person but still wanna go there are bento boxes and bowls that do not have fish or cross contamination.
Over all, out of most restaurant experiences I did not need to wear my headphones for noise volume, and I was very comfortable here. I try to go back as much as I possibly can. - Sincerely one of your local...
