IF YOU KNEW WHAT A REAL SANDWICH WAS, you’d already be eating at the Sub Shop. Best sandwich in town.
But maybe you prefer your bread with the bounce of a yoga mat? Eeks. Just don’t pretend that chain slop is food.
The people at Sub Shop are friendly and fast... and it's local. Do I need to tell you why that's better, snowflake? Because it's run by real people, not bean counters in suits who will cut every corner that you can't see and tell you it's food they're serving you.
And when they reopened? They didn’t pull a “reimagined menu” on us. They stuck with what works. Because it was already good. We don't need some 2.0 nonsense. And they're not reimagining the very notion of food like the chains.
Yes you do have choices in the area, sure. If you hate yourself. Sub shop is an institution. I've been eating the same sub my whole life and my mother and grandmother before me.
It's a delight to find a town with a sub shop. You know the food and vibes will be excellent.

The first time we went back it was almost as good as it used to be, however it’s continued to change and worsen over time. For starters they changed the bread. It was flavorless and dry. Length wise was smaller and much more narrow making all of the filling spill out, causing it to be very difficult to enjoy. The quality just felt cheap. Most importantly one of the workers came out of the bathroom WITHOUT WASHING THEIR HANDS walking all the way into the food prep area before using the sink. Also witnessed two other customers comment about feeling uncomfortable with the chosen music in the restaurant containing quite a few expletives and not wanting to stay at or return to the...
