I want to love this place more than I do right now. The good outweighs the bad, but only because I'm not a health inspector. The food was portioned well and delicious. My eggs were nearly perfect. (Over medium eggs are an art form! Hard to get perfect in a busy kitchen. I had a bacon breakfast with a requested extra egg that never came. I did get a side of sausage, which was cooked perfectly. The hash browns and sourdough toast were done right. Bacon was bendy and perfect! I had coffee which was not too strong but a little cold. The cream left it luke warm but I understand why. With all that said my experience was hindered by an exceptionally dirty eating space. The table was cleared but still had food stuck to it. I had to clean it myself. The window sills are not something I would normally notice but with my six year old sitting g beside me it was un-ignorable. The place needs some management TLC and some improvement to the attention to detail! I will come again soon, and I will re-review this when I appear again. I'm hopeful that a busy cold season is the reasons for these shortcomings and I would love to be a frequent eater here, but it's got room for improvement. I just hope I don't get charged for that egg when I go since it never showed up. Thank you for the friendly service!

I’m from out of town and was looking for a decent place to grab some breakfast. After looking through the reviews from several restaurants in the area, I decided to give this place a try. I was NOT disappointed! The food here was delicious, great prices, friendly service and ample parking in their parking lot. The pancakes were literally the size of a dinner plate and thick! They tasted great. The fresh fruit was fantastic and not over-ripe or mushy like some places I’ve been to. The coffee was great as well. They also have lunch items but my experience is limited to the breakfast items. Overall I enjoyed my dining experience and will definitely be back the next time I’m in town. Thank you for providing good quality food with great prices and friendly service! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Nothing changes but the colors. I mean this in a good way. Somethings are better left alone, and this is the case here. My first visit here was in 1996, the food was great then and it's just as good as I remember it, today. The parents are gone but the kids continue the tradition of large servings of hash browns and giant burritos. Excellent service by everyone. The place is clean and the atmosphere relaxed. If you are visiting Eugene OREGON this is the place to go if you are "STARVED". Best time, I found out to go is at around 10:30 or so, not as crowded as it would be earlier in the morning. Parking lot was paved and updated, no more dusty car after your meal. !Great Job Fam! Keep up the good tasting food !

Fantastic breakfast options, and an amazing enormous breakfast burrito. I ordered the special GJs breakfast burrito with ham sausage and Bacon. However I'm sure the other breakfast burritos are just as large. Big and delicious seems to be their thing lol. Even my friends and significant others orders were pretty large. Even just the half order biscuits and gravy was a full plate with I believe it was four full biscuits and plenty of gravy. Highly recommended! The burrito was more than twice as large as most local " large burritos " and I'm not trying to talk smack. I love me a good chimi or wet burrito from a variety of local places. And no complaints on size lol. They're always big enough for two meals honestly. But this thing is legit the biggest burrito of any kind I have ever seen in person ( four meals easy if you're not making it your goal to end up in pain from eating too much anyway ). And while I can't imagine you could actually pick it up and eat it, ( fork definitely required ) it is quite well wrapped nor does it just fall apart. We were able to actually even pick it up when we got it down to about a third left. But full size there's just entirely too much weight. Again, not complaining! It was bomb! Keep doing what you do! Oh, they even have good prices! The big beautiful plate sized breakfast burrito at I'm going to guess about three inches or more thick was only $17 and the " half order biscuits and gravy ) of which was definitely not your typical half order with four biscuits and plenty of gravy at only $10. Prices do change though so don't be seeing this a couple years from now expecting the same prices lol. Don't...

GJ's is 'beyond great'. I was introduced to GJ's at breakfast several months ago by a man who went to high school with me almost 50 years ago. He sold meat to local restaurants his entire career. So, it was no surprise to me that he knows all the best places in town and GJ's breakfast proved I was right about that. Well, this time I had lunch at GJ'. My first thought was to try the Reuben but I am rather picky about those so, I went with another popular choice... their patty melt.

OMG. Folks: the patty melt is the best I ever had. My lunch date had the club sandwich, which she absolutely loved. About 2/3 way thru lunch, the waitress brought over half a Reuben sandwich, no charge (!). They really wanted me to try their Reuben and, it was as good or better than any other I ever ate. (In fact, only the Reuben at Gracie's Sea Hag in Depot Bay is sometimes-better than GJ :):):) The quantity of food was surprising, both of us left with another meal in a carry-out box. We made plans to eat at GJ's at least once per month for a while because all their offerings are likely to be 'best in class', just like today's lunch.

The only thing left for me to do is contact my high school buddy to thank him for introducing me to GJ's. At the same time, I will definitely invite him out to the "steakhouse of his choice" because I am certain he knows where to find the best steaks in town. (GJ's is a breakfast lunch restaurant, they open early and...

Thank you for explaining the breakdown. In the ticket it read No ham, no beef, no peppers and 1.00 was next to it. That showed me there was a $1 charge for those items, see what I mean? It was confusing which is why I thought I got charged $1. If I would have known it was for the ranch I wouldn’t have assumed I got charged for taking those items off and wouldn’t have left a review. In my experience I’m always told when something cost extra, in this case a small side of ranch. This was not mentioned to me but the amount was written down on the ticket next to different items. So I hope you can see the confusion on my part thinking I was being charged for saying no to those items. As far as you thinking I’m putting you down because I work at a restaurant in town and or bad mouthing your food, I am not. I never not once said your food is terrible, I enjoyed it very much. The fries were fresh and the deli sandwich was exactly what I was picturing it to be. Also thank you for doubling up on turkey for the sandwich, it wasn’t needed but I appreciate it now knowing you guys double up. Hope this clears things and in the future I would mention to customers when something is extra so they aren’t like me wondering why I was charged. Appreciate you for taking your time out and explaining the ticket and for letting me know what...
