Camer African Market & Cuisine — Restaurant in Euless

I recently purchased Farmers Choice Canyon sausages (both beef and pork) from this company based in Texas. They were the only retailer I could find with reasonable pricing, so I placed an order. The website stated that for $15, my order would be shipped in a cooler container, which I could return for a refund on the shipping fee.

My order was shipped on March 3 and arrived on March 6. Unfortunately, it was not in a cooler as advertised. Instead, it was packed in a silver bubble wrap container with ice packs, which had completely melted by the time I picked up the package. Before even removing the box from the Amazon locker, I noticed a strong, unpleasant odor.

For health and safety reasons, I will not be consuming the product and will have to throw it away. I reached out to the company to express my disappointment, but their only response was that the sausages “looked fine.” Given the poor packaging, misleading shipping policy, and lack of customer care, I will not be purchasing from this company again. If you do not live in Texas, I strongly advise against ordering from them, as they do not seem to prioritize safe shipping for perishable products.

The company replied to an initial review stating that:

Your items were packaged in two ways: In an insulated shipping bag with an ice pack, and Inside a shipping box.

Ice packs that were literally mush because they had already melted but okay.

“From the pictures and videos you provided, the insulated bag with ice packs was in good condition, and the sausages also appeared to be in good condition. Since your order was relatively small, a large cooler was not necessary. Our shipping policy ensures that all perishable items are shipped in insulated packaging (also known as a cooler bag), so it is not misleading.”

Please be serious, “ Since your order was relatively small, a large cooler was not necessary.”

There was not 1 sentence on your website letting me know that shipping containers are left to company discretion depending on order size, why would I just assume that?? I paid according to your sites recommendation.

“ Your package was shipped on March 3rd and delivered on March 6th, which falls within our expected delivery timeline”

Delivery timeline or not, my order did not arrive in conditions that made me trust ingesting the contents.

She did also proceed to tell me the odor from the box was because they sometimes reuse ice packs….🥴🥴

I have been eating these sausages since I was a child, I haven’t had them in a while and I was so excited to purchase them! Imagine my disappointment, I waited all week for them. It’s just very very disappointing.

This is my personal experience and opinion on a product I purchased with my own money, no one is going to dictate how anyone else should feel about something they paid for.

I had an amazing experience shopping in this awesome shop.The variety of food items available is truly impressive—everything from fresh produce to authentic spices and traditional African ingredients. The quality of the products is outstanding, and the flavors are just what I needed to recreate my favorite dishes.

Recently stopped in at this recently open Cameroon/African store. They have authentic food products. I wasn’t really looking for much since I’ve traveled down here on a business trip, but ended up buying several items including organic palm oil from Cameroon. If you know, you know!
