JP's Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Eureka

Common racist bar. I don’t generally prefer to go into hole in the wall bars, but I had heard good things about JPs and my son also enjoys the wings here. Decided to go, against my better judgement. Sat down at the bar and what unfolded was nothing short of an episode of What Would You Do television show. A black man walked into this questionable establishment and sat down at the bar. We were there for a while, seemed like he had met a couple of friends for drinks. His friends left, and he remained requesting to place an order for takeout. His server Matt took the order. The black man waited.

Several other white people came and were seated after he placed this order. They were served. He remained patient, waiting for his takeout. Nearly an hour passed and he was still waiting for his food. He began to ask what the status of his order was and I saw a man approach him, come up behind his shoulder and harass him. Matt the waiter became irate when the black man questioned why he was still waiting on his order when other people had been seated and were now eating after his order was placed. Even though he was harassed, he still tipped this asinine entitled waiter, who then said, “I don’t want your tip.”

My food was subpar at best, tasting like leftover grease and the general regret of spending money at a racist...

You need patience. We got there and seated ourselves. It took over 15 minutes to get a server. The place was NOT that busy on a Saturday night. Our server was sitting at the bar looking at her phone. Another server was working his ass off and a third spent the entire 15 minutes talking to people at a table. We were literally about to walk when she finally came over. Do not order water unless you live in Eureka. I forgot and ordered water. Sickening. Not their fault but Eureka water is the worst in a tri-state area. The food was ok, nothing to write home about. The wife had the Nashville Kick’in Chicken and said there was not really anything Nashville Chicken about it and very little Kick’in. We sensed they wanted us to tab out after a few drinks so we did. I then went to the bar to get more drinks since nobody came to the table and then the server asked me to sit down and said she would get them. It all felt really odd. I guess I did not fit in since I am not a local. There are plenty of good places in Eureka, but this place may take some patience to get served so so food. They do have three pay...

JP's has gone downhill drastically. I have noticed it the last couple of times we've been there but I kept giving them a chance. The food portions have decreased while the prices increase. Our server wasn't very friendly at all. She took our order and gave us the bill and that was it. Another guy, who was very friendly, brought our food and refilled our drinks. I should have handed him the tip personally. Also, this place has been known for tax fraud for a LONG time. They round the bill up to the nearest .05. So if your bill food/drink total and tax equals $24.02 your total on your bill will be $24.05. I have brought this to their attention several times and they still continue to let it happen.
