So I went there to eat with my friend and the food was great, however; in the middle of us eating there our waitress came over to tell us that their wifi system was down so they couldnât take cards. My friend had only enough cash for her but I never carry cash and only had my card. So the waitress asked me to write my name and phone number down so that I could pay over the phone tomorrow which I totally agreed to. We ended up finishing our food and walking out after my other friend paid in cash until an older lady with grey hair that worked there stopped us outside walking to the car and asked if I was âthe one who didnât pay for my foodâ. I then told her that I gave the waitress my name and number like we had agreed to since their system was down. She then asked if she could take a picture of my drivers license and I told her I was uncomfortable doing so. After I denied giving her my license she started questioning me why I wouldnât and I explained that it had nothing to do with me paying but as it has my address or that could lead to identity theft. She got louder and started yelling at me for denying that and I told her I was going to pay and I asked why she stopped only me specifically when I know for a fact two of the other customers (not with me) also didnât have cash. She said âI didnât stop them Bc they gave me their credit card information, I donât know why arenât cooperating. I told her â I was completely cooperative by giving the waitress what she asked for but she never asked for my credit card info inside. I would have given my credit card information if the waitress asked me for it but all she asked me was for my name and phone number and that she would call me tomorrow to pay over the phone. My friend ended up just giving her cash to pay my bill so she would stop and we could go but as we were walking away she yelled â what the hell is wrong with youâ and I told her to âhave a good day mamâ....worst experience Iâve ever had. I have no idea why she needed my drivers license or why she started yelling at me for denying that and never stopped the other customers. Maybe because Iâm young (20 years old)? Hispanic? Gay? Not sure but it was all thanks to their inconvenience of their system being down and not accommodating at all:/ Sad to say because Iâve been here previously and didnât...
Read moreTwo buddies and I visited O'Dell's on a Saturday afternoon. It was a destination for us, as my friend had been there previously and said the wings were fantastic (they are!). The pub is in the heart of Eureka's Historic District.
We got there around 2pm and found seats at the bar. The place is comfortable and is run by family - something I appreciate. The beer selection was decent with at least one beer to accommodate just about every type of beer palate. For me, that's Bud Select, which was perfectly cold. They have a TouchTunes jukebox, so we were able to listen to music of our choosing, another nice touch.
All three of us ordered the wings and a beer. While waiting for the food, we chatted with the owner, who was hand-washing beer mugs behind the bar. He gave us a little history of the place which was pretty neat. He also gave a little insight on the kitchen and the wings, and mentioned that they have an oil filtration unit that helps keep the oil clean; they change the oil frequently to ensure the food comes out great. This attention to quality showed in the wings!
The wings are ordered by the pound, and come in one of three flavors: Jack Daniels, House (hot), or Garlic Parmesan. I had the House sauce, which was delicious. Not too hot, and it had a tiny bit of sweetness; very flavorful. Definitely not the standard Franks hot sauce and butter. There is a very light breaded-like coating on the wings, which added a little crunch to them. The wings were good-sized; not huge and not small. My buddies both had the Jack wings. I tried one of those but preferred the House sauce (they did too!).
Overall, the experience was great. Cold beer, excellent wings, casual atmosphere, personable staff - and good music! I'll definitely go back. ...
Read moreAfter spending Our Fatherâs Day at Odellâs we will not be returning. Food service was incredibly slow. Their menu did not reflect specifics for instance, chicken wings came out breaded however that was not mentioned on the Menu When questioning it we were told you shouldâve asked for them to be unbreaded again no mention of it on the menu. The individual was incredibly rude and honestly very unhelpful. The chop salad was not chopped and discovered there was no chicken 10 minutes after our meal was served they brought out microwave chicken Pieces. The children in our party had very tough and rubbery chicken tenders again when asking for a different entrĂ©e, there was a question about âwhat was wrong with themâ since it was Fatherâs Day, we brought in a cake after confirming with the restaurant we could bring in our own Dessert to celebrate Fatherâs Day after arriving, we were told it could only be store-bought dessert again, un mentions and incredibly inconvenient finally, our server was too overwhelmed and could not complete our service oh, and not to mention the Appetizers were ridiculous. The mile high fries were in fact, chips and very skimpy for the price and they had microwave Shredded cheese on top. Unfortunately, we were a family of 14 and all of us agreed we would not be returning to this establishment. The key to this restaurant shouldâve been communication, correct menu and honestly better service and food. The only positive was a Caesar salad however, $10 was...
