Looks like a cute little bar, seemed like there were lots of regulars. There's a digital jukebox on the wall, several tvs too, one screen dedicated to advertising their promos and events, a small karaoke stage, and a separate room for billiards.
We came to try the food: fried pickles, fried mushrooms, the Philly cheesesteaks with French fries (and one substitute for the "spuds" instead of fries). BF was disappointed that the fried pickles were spears instead of slices (he says the breading falls off / the whole spear of pickle comes out of the breading, and he doesn't like that), but I thought they tasted great and really liked the breading! Mushrooms were great too, and weren't so scalding hot, like they sometimes are when they come straight out of the fryer. Their fries and spuds were great too! Perfectly crisp, fries had season salt on them and the spuds had a little kick from the jalapeño.
Sadly, the Philly was too too salty to eat... and I'm good with salty foods. The first bite was super cheesy, and we both were pleasantly surprised, but the next two bites were like a salt-lick. My bf powered thru because he was starving after work, but he didn't finish the sandwich either. It's too bad because their bread was outstanding, loved how cheesy it was, but the meat was the culprit...
The server offered to get something else, but I lost my appetite. She removed it from the bill. We might return to try other foods, or play Texas Hold 'em. It's a very cute and convenient bar, the atmosphere was nice... they just need to...
Read moreLet me try to do this without being a Karen. My boyfriend and I came here for a little date and I'm not impressed with anything other than the appetizer. We ordered fried mushrooms as our appetizer, and we were sharing the shrimp tacos, and the taco quesadilla which were both burnt and the shrimp was so overcooked you couldn't bite into it, so we literally ate one slice of the quesadilla each and ate the fried mushrooms. I'm really upset. Plus it took forever for one refill (Dr pepper and tea) each and the server was rude with an ugly attitude. He also sat down and joked/talked with other customers and clearly saw us waiting patiently.. White haired guy is the reason I decided to leave a review. Not to mention we still had to pay full price for food we couldn't eat. $50 later and I dont want to go back. The appetizer isn't enough to make us want to try again. And the lady I took the complaint to was the one who cooked our food and didn't offer an apology. When I asked to talk to a manager she said I couldn't do that and said the managers were not on property. She took my number and said she would give it to someone when they got in but couldn't promise anyone would contact me back. And before I left she said she would let the server...
Read moreOne of my friends talked up their signature Monte Cristo sandwich, and so I ordered it and their crinkle cut fries.
To be totally blunt, it was the best Monte Cristo I have eaten to date. For a notoriously rich and heavy sandwich, their version, using a lightly battered and powder sugar sprinkled tortilla wrap, not-too-strong dijon mustard, melted cheese, and tangy pepper dipping jelly, was just the right amount of sweet, spicy, and sour. The fries were well seasoned themselves and delicious, a nice compliment to the Monte Cristo, though I definitely could have used just a few more of them with the sandwich.
Our waitress was friendly and bubbly and the owners were pleasant and down-to-earth. We didn't have to wait long for the food... it was prompt and appropriately warm and fresh.
Looking over the menu, I would definitely sample more of the intriguing cuisine, especially the beef tacos.
This is a local bar and grill with more than your boring, ordinary pub fare. They apparently decided to raise their standards a few notches above and add a unique twist. Surprisingly unexpected. I will...
