This is how General manager, Tyra Alvarez came to her conclusion of thinking I smoked in the room. Clearly the cleaning lady said it smelled like garlic and then went on to find a pipe that was thrown in the garbage along side of a sealed plastic container that she had to open for the picture. How Tyra got the rest of her so-called “evidence” to help falsify her claim is beyond me!
I’m staying at IHG hotels 50% of the year, I am very well aware of their no smoking policies nor have I ever had an issue or smoked in any room I’ve ever stayed at.
Her disrespectfully smug statement she gave me while issuing a refund was a backhanded apology at best and really went a long way in showing that this person is far too proud of themselves to admit that they’ve made a mistake.
At this point I no longer care about the $250 charge, it was hastily refunded. I don’t appreciate being treated so disrespectfully, lied to and accused of an act that I never did!! This review will make it across all platforms and I will be contacting executive IHG with all her “evidence”along with her long chain of disrespectful emails including screenshot from the cleaning lady
If you plan on staying at this hotel, I highly advise that you don’t! If you do be aware of what kind of food you eat in the room and what you throw in your garbage because you may be surprised with the...
Read moreWe checked into the Candlewood because we were on mandatory evacuation due to flooding in our city. We had no place to go. we paid three days in advance in cash to stay there. On the third day I went to the desk to try to extend our stay for another day and I was told that our room had already been booked out. I could not understand how our room could be booked out since our check out time was not until 11am the next day. I was staying at the Candlewood with my husband and our three young daughters. Our only choice offered by Candlewood was a another room for 40.00 more than what we had paid with only 1 queen bed and a coach that turned into a bed. I was not allowed to rebook the same room we were still in. I really do not feel that this was good business practices on the hotel's part. We were basically homeless until the evacuation orders were lifted but that did not seem to matter to the staff. They told me the other person paid in advance. We paid in advance in cash. I will not hesitate to tell others about this because I believe it was wrong. We were already under a lot of stress due to the floodi but then to find out we had no place to go unless we paid more for a room that would not accommodate us was wrong. I even went as far as telling the staff that we could not pay a higher fee because we were in between a rock and a hard place but that...
Read moreI was originally just planning to post how amazing my stay was due to the two staff members I worked with directly Diana and a young girl I didn't get her name that was so sweet but unfortunately once the issue with my TV was placed in the hands of a different employee it was simply bad. I had assumed that they would fix the issue with my TV as paying for a room you can only sit and star at the wall in is not my idea of a good stay for $200:/ the lady that I had spoken to said she would call me once she saw that the tech guy had sent a new signal then forgot, calling me at 11 pm when I was sleeping to say that she'd move me rooms. I was board so fell asleep so moving rooms that late was not ideal when half asleep. She was very opposite of the first two I had the pleasure to met upon check in and waking to my bill being put on the floor in front of my door with no attempt to understand that paying the original price after a night of calling for help with my TV only to just sleep and be woken up late was not mind nor anyone's idea of a good stay. I guess this location is less about the customers comfort than the monet so returning will not happen. It' was originally regardless of not serving breakfast here a nice place so hopefully that changes to provide a service worth $200 a night . Thank you to the first two ladies, you...
