Mot’s Pit Cooked Barbeque — Restaurant in Evans

I personally love Motts food. I eat here once a week mostly because it’s close to my house. Every time I get food here I love the taste and price is reasonable.

HOWEVER, I can no longer be silent on the way this place is run. I’m not sure they actually want to stay in business. The effort has definitely declined over the years. Here are my biggest complaints:

1. The blasé attitude they have about operating hours. Closed Sundays is fine. I get it. But they also close on seemingly random days for no apparent reason with just a paper sign saying “Closed- Mgmt”. Today was one of those days. If you can’t even care enough to keep your business open then just sell it.

2. The mac and cheese is delicious. I love it. I’m guessing it is one of their more popular sides. Which is why I was cool the first 2-3 times they ran out( before 6pm?). But it is a big reason why I eat there. So now that it seems to happen half the times I go and I just leave if there is none. How can you not plan better for a popular item? I even once went at 5:15pm and you were out. No promise to make more(I would wait for it) just “we out”. You have even tainted the good things about your business. Sigh. Now when I go I half expect to leave without the food I came for. That is not good business.

Anyone else would have given up long ago. Even the convenience of this place being 2 minutes from my house is starting to not be enough anymore because I have a high chance of wasting my time.

BE SERIOUS ABOUT YOUR...

You never know if a place is going to be good until you try them. This was my first and last visit to this place. First off their hours on Google maps said they were open until 8pm but we arrived at 5:45 pm and they were closing at 6 pm. Since we never had eaten here we had couple questions but the staff ignored us for the most part to eager to close to answer our questions. We almost left to eat somewhere else but we had our hearts set of BBQ but our hearts got broken. I ordered BBQ chicken I got grilled chicken and had to add my BBQ sauce from a bottle on the table. The man who prepared our meats chopped up my friends pork BBQ. I don't eat pork but the man chopped my chicken with the same clever without cleaning off the pork my chicken had pork throughout the chicken that I had to pick out and had to leave about 1/3 of my chicken on the plate contaminated with pork making it inedible for me. The meats were very very dry to point that taking a bite with out pouring BBQ on it would choke you. Not only was the food not worth it but the service was seriously lacking maybe simply because it was closing time and tired people were ready to leave. I wish we would have left and ate somewhere else lesson learned we know we won't ever eat at this place again maybe my honest review will save some poor unsuspecting soul a...

Where to start.....BBQ sauce was tasteless and can not be called BBQ sauce. Watered down I mean watered down. Mac and cheese was not good at all. My 16year old son makes better mac and cheese at home. Beans were dry on top horrible taste. Shut your eyes you would not know it's BBQ beans. The sandwich was large and came with 3 spiky bones that one stabbed me. They call there BBQ place but nothing there taste like BBQ AT ALL. This is on a.low level food rating. I had to give a star it forced me too. HINT: go-to sconyers BBQ save your self some time and save your self from the pain of eating this low level food. Very bad. Worst BBQ sauce I have ever had in my life. Waisted $15 I ate the sandwich because in was starving. People who on this place please read.your reviews and.learn what BBQ is eat.at sconyers then go to your test kitchen time and revamp your whole idea of what BBQ is. Never eating there again. Thats a promise and I will warn people about this place.
