Quick and extremely satisfying sandwiches. They are filling and they do not skimp on the cheese. Bread? Perfect. Brie? Perfect. Salmon? Perfect. Oh..and the macaroons? I ate that slice of heaven so quickly that I could not even take a picture of it. This is my new favorite place to eat when visiting Evanston. Pictured half a BLT on baguette and half a salmon sandwich on sourdough.

Amazing food and staff that genuinely care about the quality. Open kitchen and friendly cooks. Love love love this place and the nice lady gave me sauerkraut to try. Lovely restaurant with very crispy to die for fries and hotdogs. Will def be back

He is laughing all the way to the bank. He has never made as much money since he started fundraising instead of working. Now he wants $90,000 no less. He just got $17,000. He is closed.

Al's Deli is definitely a go-to to add to your list when hungry! I am a bonafide foodie! ! They make a REALLY good fresh salmon with cheese, lettuce, and tomato sandwiches!!!!!! I get that every time I go! My mom gets the same thing and she LOVES their potato soup! I just turned my boyfriend onto them yesterday and he fell in love with the smoked duck sandwich! He said it was so fresh and the lentil soup was really, really good! I love looking at the photos on the wall of the owner's travels as well. He might have missed his calling and should have been a photographer as well as a deli owner! The customer service is always welcoming! I do prefer it when the owner is there for the quality customer service because he really does care about his business, but I know he has to take a break...

One of my favorite places in Evanston. I love the charming French atmosphere of the little shop and I literally have dreams about the icebox sugar cookies. You must always ask if they have them because they are rarely on display. All the sandwiches are delightful, for us the brie on baguette is the way to go. If you are lucky they will wrap your sandwich in paper and string. It's the sweetest thing and reminds me of visiting my grandparents house. There is a calming energy to the place so slow down and enjoy your time there as they prepare your food. It's nice to visit a family place, with the brothers in their aprons (sons of Al). The vintage candies on display are fun too. It's a hidden little gem near the Noyes St "L" stop....

Two brothers, Bob and John own the deli. And they take pride in what they do Everything is fresh, and homemade. You cannot go wrong with any one of their sandwiches, their side salads, their soups, and their cookies. Each sandwich is freshly made with the freshest ingredients possible. The size are wonderful, and the soups, they change daily. The best one at this time is the tomato soup. It's rich with a little spice so good on an afternoon. They're cookies and macarons are to die for. I would recommend everything...
