Sitting eating with my family on July 30th 2025 and a little old lady came in an ask for a loaf of the bakerys cheesy jalapeño sour dough bread and the lady behind the counter says "we dont have any", and the little old lady said "but they told me you would have some on Wednesday". Well the girl behind the counter got so rude and disrespectful I couldn't believe it. " Well you didn't talk to the baker did you their not here till Thursday". Well, the poor old lady left.... On a whim this morning, I typed in a search for gluten free bakery from our hotel in Evanston. Thursday happens to be the one day of the week they offer gluten free bread & treats, so lucky me, it's Thursday! Apparently they clean all the machinery on Wednesday in order to offer gluten free on Thursday. We had an enjoyable visit to The Bakery. The quaint and eclectic decor combined with their yummy sweet or savory treats make it the perfect place whether bringing a book for a solo visit or having brunch with a group of friends.
