McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in Evansville

McAlister's has been added to my never eat again list. I go there once a week with several peoples orders and have been doing this for a couple years now. I always get mac and cheese for a side, and I have always checked it because half the time you can literally see the bottom of the bowl that it comes in. So anytime it is ever not full they give me another bowl with the correct serving size. The last 4 weeks have been good, today it was mostly liquid and hardly any noodles, wasn't even half of the normal serving. I said something and a manager stuck his head out the window and told me that it is the same serving as always and then told me that I need to stop harassing the employees. I told him I never harassed anybody and that the last 4 weeks the side was ok, but today it wasn't. Told him I can go somewhere else from now on over what measures up to a bite of mac and cheese. He said they are always the same serving size. I told him that I have pictures of all the ones he shorted me on and from now on I'll take my weekly 30 dollar orders somewhere else. He turned and walked away. I pulled away said I won't be back. He was real rude, and it was by far the worst I have ever been treated by any other resturant.

UPDATE: They do not care about their customers. I still have not returned there. I figured McAlisters has loss 800 dollars in sales as I used to get orders for several people I work with. it may be more than that because we would sometimes eat twice a week there. Still in shock that I never done anything to be treated the way I was treated there. I hope the manager has...

Visited 10/20/22 and hadn’t been there for a while, and it wasn’t long before I remembered why we hadn’t been there. My wife and I both ordered the pick 2, as the lady waiting in us informed us we could pick any cup of soup, a half of baked potato and a half of ANY sandwich! So the wife orders a half baked potato with chipotle chicken and cheese, a half of a French Dip. I ordered a half of French dip and a cup of chili. We both ordered drinks. The ticket came to about $35.00. When I questioned why it was so high, I was informed that there was a $1.50 up charge for the French dip, and for the chipotle chicken? Then they charges us$3.49 for a large coke!!! a I was shocked, I pointed out to her that you told us ANY half a sandwich and any half of baked potato!!! Then you charge a $4.50 up charge for those 3 items. That is very misleading and quite frankly against the law, to advertise one price and then charge a higher price!!! And I realize they are in the business to make money, but $3.39 for a coke is just plain stealing from their customers. Will not be returning there anytime in the future. I would also advise to anyone that goes there to check their ticket!!! This is a trusted business. Food maybe good, but it ain’t that...

Slow service. Lots of push back from cashiers. Cashiers don’t act like they are trained. I can’t do that… our system crashed… I bought gift cards which no one knew how to ring up so that took about 15 minutes for them to verify simple information and when I told the manager I also wanted to order food she said okay and required me to wait in line all over again like she didn’t want to take my order or it was beneath her. I love McCalister’s. It was my go to daily in Louisville for my main meal. It bothers me that after dark the store lights are always off and the main sign by the road is broken and never lit up. I can’t imagine how much money the store loses due to poor visibility. It’s like the employees want the store to go out of business. This store could be busting at the seems daily with business but it has been poorly managed and the employees seem entitled and irritated if people come in at night. It seems that the Newburgh store is better in sales...
