I recently ordered a meal for delivery to my home through their website, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The doordash driver delivered my order to a different apartment, claiming that was the address I had provided. However, this was not true; I double-checked my order confirmation, and the correct address was listed.
I had to call the restaurant, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, to inform them of the situation, but they told me they were not responsible since DoorDash handles the delivery. DoorDash, in turn, claimed that the restaurant was at fault. Both parties kept blaming each other, saying it was the other's responsibility to resolve the issue, leaving me in the middle with no solution.
At Tropical Smoothie Cafe, there was no one qualified to handle refunds. The girl who answered the phone was only 17 years old and not equipped to manage the situation. I spent an hour and a half on the phone with both DoorDash and the restaurant, even making a conference call including both parties, but still, nothing was resolved.
We had to involve the area manager, “ Joshua” who suggested that I place the order again. He assured me that he would process the refund for both orders the next day and also provide coupons and other offers for free meals. I placed the order the second time for pick up by mistake ( my fault) and even a third time to get it delivered to my address, i had to spent 60$ for a sandwich and a smoothie to be delivered two hours after.
However, it has been six days since then, and Joshua has not responded to any of my messages. I still have not received my refund, and when I call the restaurant, there is still no one qualified to resolve my situation.
Due to this mistake and the lack of accountability, I had to go through the hassle of contacting customer service repeatedly to resolve the issue, which took a considerable amount of time. This experience has left me frustrated and hesitant to place an order on their website ever again in the future. I hope they improve their delivery accuracy and ensure their drivers double-check addresses before completing deliveries, and that both the restaurants and DoorDash take responsibility when issues arise.

The employees were very distracted and you could even hear the off task behavior over the speaker phone for ordering in the background. This also resulted in my smoothie tasting absolutely horrible, for the first time. I literally ordered the Avocadolada the day before (my first time ordering this particular flavor) and it was amazing as I expected. On this visit, the next day, I ordered the exact same smoothie and it was absolutely horrible and was literal torture drinking it. It tasted as if ingredients were missing. It definitely didn’t taste like it did the day before, a very noticeable difference from the first sip. This visit was very disappointing, especially as there are not many fresh smoothie places in town. In my concern and desire to help and support good businesses, I am right this review in hopes that this business will get better. On a recent visit, during the weekend, Brittany was very sweet, understanding and considerate of the long wait time I experienced (a drive thru visit). On most occasions when I have to come into the building the employees (who are normally very young) are not pleasant at all. They barely speak or acknowledge your presence (which is what I experienced on the particular visit). They really need to learn acceptable customer service skills for a professional business that I know desires to thrive in the community.

Read moreThe smoothies are great if the person making them fully blends them. The food is generally ok, but today I got the worst turkey bacon club ever. It had two of the smallest thinnest pieces of bacon I could ever imagine on it. The small corn container was maybe one third of the way full. They forgot a spoon and gave me one napkin. Good thing I decided to eat it here after I grabbed it out of the cubby or I would have had to come back. This meal is over $16 dollars and the items are not complicated. They want tips as well but I stopped tipping because of the very bad service and reactions from the employees when you ask anything. This should not happen. They are not busy. They atmosphere is ridiculous with excessively loud rap music being played by one of the employees with the rest hollering at it. I think I'm done with this place if they can't hire better help. Two people from drive thru came in during the 15 minutes it took me to eat my food because their drive-thru items were incorrect, which is also why I no longer use the drive-thru. I would tell you what the mistake was but I couldn't hear over the employees laughing and yelling from the back extremely loudly.
