Takeout express — Restaurant in Evansville

Updated review (now 1 star): I don't think I will be returning after my experience today. They stuffed my entire order (7 large entrees, around $100 spent) in one paper grocery style bag making a big mess. I'd like to hope this was just a careless mistake, but since this was my first visit after my previous review, it feels retaliatory. I didn't feel my previous review was overly negative. Just pointing out some problems that had been recurring and that, if the food is going to cost more, some of those problems aren't as excusable.

Previous review (was 3 stars): I have been going to Takeout Express at least once a week for quite awhile now. Even after the removal of the 10% coupon when ordering online I still didn't mind ordering every week. Unfortunately I have also noticed when I order two of the same large entrees it seems like one if not both of the dishes are far less full than if I would have only ordered one. It almost seems like the equivalent of 1 large and 1 small divided up between two large dishes. It is disappointing that while I am paying more now I am getting less food in the takeout dishes. Hopefully the consistency can improve. I really enjoy the food but I'll probably order less...

I like to be fair. I'm going to give it a 2. The reason is simple. I went inside to pick up the online order I made and paid for. There was a little boy that couldn't have been more than 8 years old. It took him a minute, but he got my order and handed it to me. I said thank you and went out to my car. Then the asian lDy ran out I guess to check and see if I paid as if I was going to just walk into their establishment without paying. I'm almost 100% sure that what she was doing. I would let it go, but I felt judged even though they already had my money. For that you must hold this one star L. Everybody doesn't steal. You better learn that. I may or may not come back. Edit: Had to rewrite my review. I ordered food last night and was extremely disappointed. I ordered mixed, sautéed vegetables, with no mushrooms. First thing I noticed was it had mushroom in it. Went to pick around it, but the vegetables were so undercooked, I could barely poke them with my fork. I got two bites in and found a small hair in my food. From there, I was just done with it altogether. A $30 order totally wasted! Because I’ve eaten here several times, I know this was just a really off day for them. It happens. However, had I been a first time customer, I would’ve quickly become a last time one.
