The food isn’t horrible. It’s definitely edible food, but is it enjoyable? No. I read another comment that mentioned that the food is bland and poorly seasoned. Thought that was dramatic, what Mexican food is bland?? Well this place is bland. The rice and beans are slightly dark clearly showing that they’re sitting in the back uncovered and hardening. No seasoning AT ALL. I asked for ground beef and was given shredded beef. It was kind of a long wait - not terrible but not quick, so I didn’t want to send it back. Again, it was edible but not enjoyable. The chips were hot which I appreciated but they were overly oiled or overly fried. Oily taste. The salsa was a bit sweeter than I’m used to but it wasn’t bad. The queso was very runny and gritty. The worst part: there’s basically no air conditioning. It’s cooler outside in July than it is in that restaurant. There was also a closed off section, I assume a party room; it was full of people and extremely loud. Like constant yelling, cheering, clapping. Obnoxious - you could barely hear the person across from you. They were yelling and cheering loudly in Spanish. All of the staff in the building other than my waitress was in that room, so I’m assuming it was staff or family. Overall - just not a good experience and I won’t be back. It was inexpensive, two meals and queso was $26. But it wasn’t good enough...

We all ordered off the lunch menu. My California burrito was gooder than good. I guess that makes it goodest? Anywho, everyone else ordered yummy looking things.
We all left with a full belly, thanks to the complimentary chips and salsa, and a decently small bill. Other resturaunts need to take notes on this!!
$$ wasn't the first time here, or second, or third. We will be back again within the next month.
Sorry no photos. I didn't eat breakfast, so I dug right...
Read moreI placed a large order of 100 enchiladas, $250, for my business days ahead of the date I needed them and was assured they would/could be ready by 11 am. A co-worker arrived at 11 to pick them up and was laughed at. Then they tried to send her away with FOURTEEN enchiladas after paying $250. They were then made on the fly and were nearly an hour later than we'd be promised. Los Portales did not discount the bill. We do a large carry-out order like this from a local restaurant every single month, this is the worst experience we've ever had, I almost can't believe this happened....
