Zesto Drive In Riverside — Restaurant in Evansville

this is a place that I have seen a couple of times, and I’ve heard a lot of people talk about it. I heard that they have two locations but this is the one to go to. Everybody swears by it! Well I’m gonna tell you what we went there my wife has been numerous times and this was my first time. It will definitely not be my last time. I got the two cheeseburgers and onion rings meal, she got that huge tenderloin with fried mushrooms. I love hamburgers, and these were in the top. I will definitely eat them again. They were freaking great. The mushrooms are cooked perfectly, be careful they’re pretty hot so they’re gonna explode. The onion rings oh my God it’s like they were real onions wrapped up in some crispy goodness. And that tenderloin very simple but very good! All in all this place rocks! I cannot wait to go back and try...

It would be more than fair to say the food is on the greasy side--similar to a Checkers or Rally's which also has signature crinkle fries. That said, I would recommend the double cheeseburger, as it overall was pretty okay. As a fan of chicken tenders, I would pass and opt for any size cheeseburger. The tenders are so thin, it just doesn't have a lot of taste. Our server was really nice and for only three people working on a Friday night, they did a good job taking and getting orders out to people. There wasn't a long wait, but they do get busy. Shakes are comparable to a frosty (soft serve). Their combos are priced comparable to every burger joint around, so I would say it was fair. They do go above on filing you up with fries--portion size overfilled...

Zestos on Riverside or Big Top on Columbia (basically the same place now) was my go to spot for burgers and ice cream. The burgers are defiantly tasty, and the ice cream is still delicious. However, the prices have doubled in the last two years, while at the same time the portions have shrank on a couple things. I used to be a regular, stopping in several times a week, but now I just keep on driving. I understand that they have to cover their costs, but I find myself thinking I'm being gouged every time I check out the menu. While it's still has good food, it's hard for me to enjoy it because I'm upset about the price I had to pay for it. Sad to say, it's no longer a regular...
