Ming Garden — Restaurant in Everett

Ordered online at 4:46 pm for 6:05 pickup.

I arrived around 6:00 pm and finally received my order at 7:45 pm. That's 3 HOURS total including the 1.75 hours of waiting inside.

The woman taking care of the front and also waiting tables is overwhelmed, to the point she seemed lost. In addition to that, she doesn't seem comfortable with the online ordering system that's been in place for years.

I found out around 7 pm that my order was completed in the system at 6:27 pm by mistake. What is the point of writing down peoples names as they arrive if you do not cross reference them to orders??

I understand being busy, but you need to manage that by either disabling online ordering or disabling phone ordering. This is basic stuff every busy restaurant will have to do at some point if properly managed.

To add insult to injury she generously gave me 6 extra fortune cookies expecting me to be thankful.

I've been ordering here for over 4 years, but will never order from here again. I feel like a fool for waiting in good faith.

My wife and I very much enjoyed the previous chinese restaurant at this location so we thought we would try this one as it is so convenient for us. The employee I spoke to for our pickup was very nice and friendly, the wait time for preparing the food was reasonable.

However the food was not good. It was over a month ago so I don't remember exactly what we ordered but the noodle order was greasy and the sauce on the chicken order was gelatinous. In our minds very stereotypical bad chinese/not authentic. I hate to waste food so I went to eat the leftover chicken the next day for my lunch and reheating did not even make the chicken sauce liquid again. In the end, we probably threw away about 1/3 of our order if not more. Was so excited to try this place after reading all the wonderful reviews. Unfortunately mine and my mom's food was not very good. I got the general tsos chicken and my mom got the orange chicken. The sauce was absolutely delicious, but the chicken was terrible. It was spongy, chewy & tasted terrible. We asked if they could make it with chicken breast meat. The waitress tried to tell us it was breast meat, until I held up a piece of brown rubbery meat. She talked to the cook who said they got different chicken because the usual wasn't available. I didn't find the fried rice very good either. It was very tasteless and dry as well. The spring roll and egg flour / wonton soup was amazing. Thank goodness for the soup...
