El Paraiso Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Everett

Go to ANY other El Paraiso besides this one. Monroe, Colby, Snohomish are all better by far. We have been coming here for years and years and never again.

Our order was wrong, so we sent it back. Since we were sending it back anyway, I had them remove the onions this time. Next thing I know, the waiter is at my side, asking why we didn’t order it without onions because now he has to pay for the food we sent back. Which was a lie, that’s illegal. But even if it weren’t, why is this waiter trying to ruin my dinner by making me feel guilty? Especially when he is the one who got the order wrong?

The owner then comes over and the waiter bald-face lies to him and says, falsely, we sent it back because there was onions on it, not because he messed it up! So unprofessional! If I were the owner, I’d have comp’d my order and sent the waiter home for the night for bothering the patrons like that.

By the way, the waiter was training a new guy. New guy was the waiter whom we first asked for a redo of our order and he deserves a trophy for great service. HE handled it perfectly. My man was on fire. Then the other waiter came over and ruined it. I think they should get rid of the older unprofessional waiter, who tells sob stories to guilt trip customers, and replace him with the new guy.

Just to be honest, other El Paraiso restaurants in the area are great and we will continue to patronize those.

Beware the shady business practices of this establishment. They will put add-ons in your meal and upcharge you without you ordering them.

I had ordered their Nachos, which comes topped with beans and cheese. You may add meat, sour cream, and guacamole for an additional charge.

When ordering, the waitress asked what meat I'd like. I told her none, as I knew it was an extra cost. I clearly told her just the beans and cheese.

When it arrived, it was topped with sour cream and guacamole. I told the waitress that I didn't order the additions. Normally a restaurant would take back the incorrectly given food and make it right. She instead stared at me dumbfounded with her mouth slightly opened like she had no idea what to do. I asked her if I could at least have a bowl or plate to wipe it off onto. She continued to stand there until I used one of the salsa bowls they give you with the complimentary chips and said nevermind.

Of course, when the bill came, I was charged for the sour cream and guacamole that I clearly told them I didn't order and then removed right in front of them. To further add to the insult, they refused to remove the extra charge.

This was in addition to having to get up to ask the staff for more water and silverware since my table was apparently abandoned in the corner.

As I said, beware giving this place...

NEVER GO HERE THE FOOD IS TRASH AND HOST HAVE NO RESPECT. Walked in one evening no customers besides me. Get seated everything was fine. I order tacos and enchiladas the meat for tacos was adobada. The enchiladas tasted like Walamrt packaged food horrible. I couldn’t even finish it. Tacos first bite tasted like bbq meat from Walmart that’s supposed to be heated in the microwave. No one comes back to attend I was done within the first 10 mins I waited to see if someone will come back so I can get a check and leave, no one came so I walked to the front and said I’m ready to go. Host asked if I wanted my tacos packed to go I said no they didn’t taste well it tasted reheated / wrong. He then proceeded to tell me that that’s how the meat is supposed to taste. When I told him I’ve had it many times before he still assumed he was right anyways I didn’t say anything I told him take my card and get my payment done and then he said he can remove it this time and next time for me to tell him so he can get me another meat for the tacos. While I never asked for him to take it off and he acted like it’s a favor. First of all there will be no next time and if there hosts / servers cant be respectful there going to have a field day with the wrong customer. If your looking for Mexican food this is...
