If you're familiar with how good pupusas can be and what they should taste like, definitely don't go "out of your way" to go here. If you're already in the area and you're hungry and you want to support a small business, maybe still go here!? I would still go here over...like...Jack In The Box, which is next door. But personally, now, next time I'm in the area, I would just go in the next door Fred Meyer and buy some snacks... The filling is sparse which is not cool at $4 per item (as in, per pupusas). Also, the ones we ordered with meat did not seem to contain almost any meat at all. Very disappointing. Which tells me they're trying to save money. I'd rather just pay more and get the meat that I ordered in my meal!? Facepalm. I ordered the meat ones for my kids and my husband and they would like to have the meat which is why we ordered it that way. Also the cabbage slaw which is always treated as a side dish-condiment is supposed to complement the flavors of the pupusa and the flavor of this condiment was very lacking when we went last week...It was meh at best. My kids said they liked it but I think that's because they're used to eating Mexican style cucumbers with a little bit of lemon and salt on them and they don't like the traditional... It's supposed to be traditionally made in with more flavor in this El Salvadorian dish. There were no red pepper flakes and no pieces of Mexican oregano, not even any hint of those flavors, which is how I am used to eating the condiment when it served with pupusas. I feel like they are making the flavor much more toned down for clientele that doesn't know how it should taste, like for an American pallet and I find that very disappointing. If people don't want to eat dishes of a certain culture the way that it's supposed to be made, then they shouldn't go there. The restaurant owners changing things for the Americans is obviously a common occurrence for decades here, but it drives down the overall experience and variety in food choices when we go out. The only thing they really had going for them was their salsas!! If you're eating in the restaurant, on the table they have a red one which is hotter a green one which is medium and a yellow bottle which is mild. They were nice. They have a good selection of drinks that you would expect at a Mexican or Latino (order at the counter type) restaurant. I did get excited about trying the flan since it was my birthday which was also extremely disappointing... Everywhere I've ever had it was better than here... Literally everywhere. It was the worst thing we had. Weird texture. In short, I would say this meal has no personality. Although it's time consuming to make at home, I make it 10 times better. It does take a little practice to get this meal down but it can be so, so good and it just wasn't even close. If it's done right it should be a comfort food and it should basically be irresistible -where you don't want to stop eating them. That's not what this was... It was take it or leave it. I'll take it for sure if it's free but I ain't going to go out of my way to go here again. We used to live near this place and it used to be a little bit better, although it still was not the great. If you want the best, I think you're going to have to go to Burien, lol!! Not joking. I guess I should make one parting admission. This is my favorite meal in the whole wide world so I might have a little bit higher standards than people that are just feeling hungry, lol. But my husband also agreed that there's no reason to go back. And my kids weren't rushing to eat all these up when we brought them home. (We ate at the restaurant then brought home food to them.) No other dishes ordered. Sad to give a negative review to a small, local business, but I feel like since they've been around for a long time they know what they're doing and they know what they could be doing differently and they don't care... Hopefully if enough people make reviews/talk to them about it, they will up their game. So I wish them that all the best in that respect.

I live minutes away and I cannot believe this was my first time here! I’VE BEEN MISSING OUT on (what I consider) Mill Creek’s best kept secret!! The exterior is very unassuming, in a “strip mall” sort of setting. The interior is also slightly unassuming and smaller, but very colorful. The menu is posted two different spots. They have a cold case with drinks and desserts. It’s an open kitchen and you can watch the employees cook, it truly feels like you’re in someone’s home! I ordered to go and everything is made to order. I ordered the bean and cheese and spinach Pupusas and a chicken tamal. The prices are so reasonable; around $9 for all of this food! The pupusas I tried were incredibly flavorful, soft and full of filling. The flavors were out of the world. The chicken tamal was so authentic, delicious masa, crazy moist and filled with white meat chicken, potato and a green bean! The slaw and vinegar-y sauce that you get was really the perfect addition! I highly recommend coming here for a truly authentic experience!

Went there to get a "to go" order for lunch on Friday, August 12th. While my order of three street tacos was good, I was a bit disappointed about the sides of rice and refried beans, plus the service. First of all, my total order was over $17 (which is a bit much to spend on just lunch). Anyway, when I got back to work to eat my lunch, they had given me two sides of rice (should have been one rice and one refried beans). So I had to go all the way back there to get the beans. They only apologized, but any reputable restaurant would have provided either a refund for the mistake or something else. Once back at work (the second time) to finally start eating, I saw the beans and I was completely disappointed! It was totally like soup, not a single bean! Don't order refried beans from here! 😣👎

We frequent this place for takeout since my daughters like the pupusas and fried plantains. One of my daughters is allergic to dairy so we always place half order of pork (chicharon) only and half order with pork and cheese. More often than not, they mess that up and always put cheese, even when we repeat the order and ask for confirmation. But we keep coming back and continue to tip generously. This last time we ordered, it was supposed to be the kids’ dinner before heading out to sports, but my younger daughter, who had gotten used to ripping the pupusas first to check for cheese, informed me that everything had cheese. I called to let them know. Swung by after dropping off kids to sports and they said it will take 15 minutes. When I went back to pick up, they wanted me to pay for the pork only order since I didn’t bring back what they acknowledge is their mistake. Three of them were arguing with me! Totally unacceptable that they are making me go through hoops when they acknowledge making the mistake. They should be compensating me for the inconvenience. I try my best to support small businesses but please learn about customer service. I average over $100 when I go there plus minimum 20% tip. Looking for...

Sorry this is a bit of a read but this was our first and last experience here. My daughter and I stopped in wanted to try this place out after finding it online. We ordered to go, so we sat and waited. We watched about 4 or 5 people come in and then get their order and leave. I believe maybe 2 of them were call in orders because they had big orders but I watched the other people ordered at the counter. Shortly after, they get their food and leave. I am patient, so I wait a little longer because we ordered 6 differrent pupusas, not sure if that is a lot. So after about 20mins, I go to the counter and they didn't remember me 🫤 I look to my daughter and asked her to come up too, show them the receipt Is like they forgot about us and our order. They apologize, get us our food promptly and we drove home. We open our container and they put everything together so now we can't tell which one is what. Then after counting them to figure out which ones they are we found that they shorted us one. Smh.. They did taste good, the slaw and the sauce that came with were good too. But that's all I have good to say. I won't...
