We did a stopover for the night in Exeter on our way to Sequoia National Park. Dropped in at Alejandra’s for dinner as they seemed to be the only place open. The place had a few customers and the service was good. However the food was a disappointment. The chicken in the enchilada and chimichanga was tasteless and flavourless. The rice was dry. The only saving grace was the salsa. Disappointed

The enchiladas definitely exceeded my expectations. I was at first a little skeptical about the portion size looked small compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area, but the amount of meat was generous. The sauce was deep and flavorful, definitely the standout of this dish. The side salad could use some dressing, but overall I was very impressed.

Tasty food and generous portions with hot sauce that actually knows the meaning of "heat." Excellent. Prompt and friendly table service with complimentary chips and salsa. Dining area was impeccably clean. A great stop on the way through to the national parks, and gas just a couple blocks away. I hope to be back!

Alejandra's was packed with happy locals on a Monday when we arrived and it sure smelled great when we walked in through door. Unfortunately, it was all downhill from there.

The complimentary chips were rock hard. My wife and I took to soaking the chip-stones into the mild salsa for 30 seconds to minimize future dental losses.

My wife had the fish fillet which had the saltiness of caviar. The fish seemed to have little salt bombs in it which took over your palate in a sneaky-pete fashion. This ruined the entrée. I had the bacon wrapped shrmip rellenos which were over-cooked and hard and rapidly cooled. The shrimp were old. Did I mention that my wife's fish was too salty?

The dinner plate the food was served on was lukewarm and rapidly cooled along with the food on it. Strange for a Mexican restaurant.

The rice was bland. The best taste by far on both plates was the refried beans.

We were hungry and wanted to like the place, but we will not be back.

This is not part of the food review, but the hot water in the men's restroom sink is burning hot. Be careful adjusting the water temperature for the sink. I don't know about the...

Walked in and ordered for 4 people. They were really nice and gave us menus to order. After they took my order they had a take a seat while we waited. The place was kinda busy groups spread out to eat. They were really quick with the food. Food was all individually plated in nice to-go no spill containers. Food was delicious 😋 salsa was really addictive. I am looking forward to going back. As far as to what we ordered, it was a green sauce wet burrito (pork was chunked not shredded- wish it was shredded), a bean and cheese burrito, 2 chicken tacos(really good flavor of chicken), and chicken enchilladas (per my daughter a little too much chicken). All came with rice and beans. Ordered chips and salsa. Overall really...

Strong chance that the meats and sauces are created from scratch on-site, daily. Consistently they serve up top-notch service and food. Hidden gem; come to Exeter, enjoy the bougie taverns, murals and antique stores. Then, park yourself on Alejandra's breezy patio. Premium ingredients, all size groups easily accommodated even on short notice. Beer on tap and in the bottle. Parking onsite. No live music, though. Small plates, vegan options, hearty portions, handcrafted presentation. Leave a fat tip to show your appreciation. A stones' throw to Monarch Stadium. Very safe location with the police station a few blocks away. Prices are crazy! This place is...
