Petes Place — Restaurant in Exeter

We came here because this place was recommended and we were not disappointed.

We ordered three sandwiches and soup with garlic toast. Everything was very tasty, seemed to be fresh. The salads were great too. However, the service deserves special praise. The woman who served us patiently answered all our questions and was very helpful. As people from Europe, we did not know all the local dishes and drinks, but the waitress explained everything and advised us what to choose. It sounded very natural and authentic, not fake nice. Thanks to the approach of the waitress and the man who prepared the meal, the atmosphere in the place was pleasant. It might seem like it's just an inconspicuous place serving sandwiches, but I think it's really worth coming here if you feel like having lunch.

Oh and btw - if you are fed up with very sweet American sodas served everywhere, you can order freshly brewed black iced tea here! Totally not sweet, it's fantastic...

No words could fully express the charm and taste of Pete's Place. The atmosphere was cozy and space efficient. I was in a group of nine. We had enough seating for all of us. Followed by the food (for all 9 of us) being ready in under 30 minutes. The food was good, and each order was accurate. Thanks to our server the experience didn't end at the great taste. Kennedy (our amazing server) was there when we needed her. At the mention of splitting a meal she had an extra plate before we asked. The staff was very polite. Very pleasant mom and pot eatery. Nice waitstaff (very attentive to our request). I ordered the French dip sandwich with a side salad. I was truly disappointed with my choices. The sandwich was served with meat and bread, no cheese or anything. The dipping sauce was so bland actually no flavor at all. It wasn't even salty. It was also on the cold side. You could totally tell it wasn't the juices the beef was cooked in. My side salad consisted of chopped iceberg lettuce, sprinkled with slice olives, chunked cucumber and a large piece of sliced mushroom. No 🍅, 🧅, mixed greens at all. Total...
