Went here on a Monday morning. The place was pretty busy, and parking was easy to find.
I was very excited to try this place since it's a Guatemalan-family bakery, and they sell champurrada. A sesame-based cookie that's great for dunking on coffee or milk. I ordered a coconut champurrada and a spicy empanada of beef and chicken. The empanadas were so savory! The seasonings used for it were exactly how I remembered them in Guatemala. The tomato sauce served on the side brought back so many memories of Guatemalan cooking. Sweet and a little thick on the texture. It paired perfectly with the spice of the empanada.
Overall, I absolutely recommend this place for a good breakfast. Most of the pastries are American-based, but the champurrada and hojaldras are an absolute must if you want a taste of Guatemalan pastries. The service was really good and the environment is so relaxing! Bonus points for Christian-themed instrumental songs playing in the background. I'll definitely return to try more of...
Read moreOverall this wasn't great but it wasn't awful. When we walked in we were the only people there and no one was there to greet us. After waiting a while someone came and we ordered 2 empanadas. One chicken, one mild beef. My fiance ordered a egg and cheese croissant. The empanadas were mid. Didn't have enough me at filling, mostly various little veggies like onions or bell peppers maybe? Not too sure, but something green. The breading was a bit hard and they just lacked a good overall flavor. The egg and cheese croissant was good, nothing to complain about. However the service was not as good as I'd hoped considering it's a small local business. Also, it took about 15-20 minutes for us to get our food, meanwhile a group of 4 came, ordered, and got their food before us. Overall...
Read moreThis place is amazing! We stumbled across it while on the way for coffee. I highly recommend the beef and chicken empanadas! I got 2 of each and they offered them spicy! They came with a salsa that had the option of spicy or mild. I chose spicy and it didnât disappoint. The spicy beef empanadas are so good. There are a great selection of bakery items that are not highly sweet and excessive. We got a chocolate ganache cookie and an apple berry cheese croissant. It was so good. This place has a spiritual vibe and a beautiful atmosphere. The lady that attended us was so nice and very helpful. She was very welcoming and helped make it an even better experience. It is a must...
