The food here "wow"-ed me unlike how Southern Californians take it for granted on how they simply have a location ready to go to. SoCal's rendition on the American iconic and classic burger makes the bold move to New Jersey to show the East Coast what it's got to make an excellent burger. The hype they built was so great, it had to live up to the hype or it wouldn't stay for more than a few days in New Jersey.
Honestly, it did live up to the hype.
From the first bite to the last one, the burger was amazingness built to order in one. So far, I've had two of their burgers (one of them twice.) The Double Charburger (Translation: Double Cheeseburger Char-Grilled with a Crispy Edge Bun and Amazingly-Cooked Ingredients) and its combo define the simple American burger done perfectly and done right and then some. The ingredients feel more fresh than any other chain around here and they're not kidding with melted cheese in between!
The other burger I had was a Teriyaki Burger. The two ingredients that sealed the deal was the Teriyaki sauce and the Pineapple. My goodness, they don't just do an American classic right, but they also do a tropical taste right on it!
Slightly the cost of Five Guys, you're getting a better taste than you're paying for, especially in the category of fast food. If you're looking for size and familiar Nation's Capital-style burgers, stay with Five Guys (which grows old once in a while.) $10 gets you a No. 2 Combo (Double Charburger, Fries and a drink.) At the first week since opening, it has been worth it to order two sandwiches at one time!
Finally, the people that work here are quite the model fast food employees because they failed to disappoint me! They are the only fast food restaurant I've visited so far to even care about how my food came out and if I needed anything. I've been there enough (that 3x) that they even remember who I am... by name! I'm leaving a week in between to see if they even remember me after that (which I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't remember it by then⦠and to make sure I don't get a bad addiction. Habit is good, addiction might not be.) Friendliest faces for a fast food restaurant, hands down! Love 'em!
Alright, well, I've said a lot. Now it's up to you if you want to visit them. If you've never experienced The Habit in SoCal, experience them in NJ. If you have experienced The Habit in SoCal, experience it again in NJ! If you want an excellent burger, have it at The Habit! Just be careful - it really just might become a new...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love a good chain burger, and I've never failed to leave impressed by my meals at Habit Burger. During this last visit, I gave the Charburger a try, and it's everything you would want from a good burger. If something has the word 'char' in the name, I need to taste some smoke and crisp, and this burger certainly that in spades. Think backyard barbecue grill, complete with grill marks. This was also a neater sandwich than I've gotten from most chain restaurants, with the actual burger closely matching what you see in pictures. If I had any complaints, it would be that it was on the smaller side. After we finished our meals, my husband and I seriously contemplated getting extra burgers because we still felt hungry. Fries are also decent - hot, well-seasoned, and fried to a good crisp.
Ordering is also a cinch. If you're paying by card, there are several kiosks near the entryway so you can place your entire order through a screen. Alternatively, customers with cash (or those just wanting to interact with a human being) can place orders with a person at the counter. Either way, you're given a buzzing pager to let you know when your order's ready for pickup. Easy peasy.
This location is inside a complex with quite a few other dining options, so parking is technically plentiful but I've noticed things can get a little tight...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI attempted to build my own veggie burger online which the option is not available. (WHICH IT SHOULD BE) I then called my order in . The lady on the phone had difficulty understanding a basic order which i spelled out clearly and slowly, several times I ordered at 5:09pm. After her repeating my order to me and placing me on hold several times she informed me that my food would be ready at 5:23. The plan was to grab my food and go to another store taking advantage of my 30 minute lunch break. Being as though Im on my lunch break at work. I arrived at 5:25... order was not ready. Which was fine. 10 minutes later I received my order which was wrong. Wrong bread, wrong toppings. Just wrong. They attempted to remake it and again not only did it come out wrong for the 2nd time. Im now stuck at work eating the wrong order with black avocados (that i paid extra for) wrong sandwich, wrong sides. I asked for half onion rings half fries but only got onion rings. Wrong again. The manager gave me a voucher to come back which i appreciate but my entire lunch break was ruined. Still im eating black old avocados on a sandwich that i didn't want in the first place. I didn't leave out until 5:54. Leaving me 6 minutes to drive back to my job and...
