Molcajete - I had to look it up. A Molcajete is like a Mexican stone mortar and pestle. They essentially take a cornucopia of meats (chicken, steak, carnitas, chorizo, shrimp) and saucey flavors and heat them in this big stone chalice. It comes to you bubbling hot (I wish I could show you the video) with a side plate of the usual beans, rice, guacamole, pico de galla, sour cream, etc, and tortillas. It’s twice the price as the average meal on the menu and so much food that I assume it’s meant to be shared. I seriously don’t know why more reviewers aren’t talking about this, it’s amazing! And for someone trying to cut back on carbs, it’s perfect; I just skipped the tortillas and rice. And since no one wanted to share it, I had 2/3rds left to take home. If I wasn’t watching carbs I’d probably reheat it with some chips and make fantastic nachos! My kids said their dishes were good too. In fact they were so satisfied and full they refused fried ice cream - their favorite. My margarita was just okay. Our server seemed like she was having a hard day - or maybe she was new and training, it was also the end of the night. In any case, service was fine and food came out in a descent time considering I ordered a specialty item. I appreciated the large high backed booth. We paid for the first time using a QR code on the bill and Apple Pay, which was super convenient.

I have been looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant since I lived in Texas. I have been to many restaurants leaving them feeling disappointed. I just moved to Fairborn Ohio and thought my chances were a little better to find something here. I was not disappointed, the food was amazing. The flavors were on point. I had the jumbo burrito. It was served with lettuce tomato and sour cream on top. You had a choice of beef or chicken. I got the shredded chicken and it was so tasty. It also had refried beans and Mexican rice in it. The Mexican rice was so good it felt like I was back in Texas. I would highly recommend this place. The service was good and the atmosphere was nice. I will definitely be going back here.

We ordered Pancho villa med well. And it looked like it didn't even hit the grill. The steak and the bacon was all pink. My fiance got the Pollo Ranchero with no bell peppers. With sour cream. Hers had bell peppers and didn't get her sour cream. Called to see what to do about it and offered a 10$ refund. I didn't even get to eat mine at all she luckily just picked her peppers off but was a very very unsatisfied situation. She's off work once every 2 weeks and was suppose to be a little date night for us movies at home with a nice dinner.and definitely didn't have a good night dinner for us. Very disappointed 😞

Dan patron has finally gotten the last of our business. I am having a hard time processing exactly how low quality our dinner was last evening.

For starters, we ordered our food to go right from the parking lot. We live right across the street, at Wright State University. We picked our food up no more than eight minutes after we had ordered it, and then drove approximately two minutes home. Somebody’s explain to me how our food was less than lukewarm. The beans: cold. The rice: cold. The meat: cold.

Now, on top of all of the food being about the same temperature as warm pudding, everything was incredibly sloppy. My chicken quesadillas was not drilled, was essentially just tossed into a plate, not cut, and drenched in white cheese sauce. And I don’t mean that the cheese sauce was in the quesadilla, I mean the cheese sauce was all over the quesadilla as milk is all over cereal. Lazy sloppy. Next, my chicken tortilla soup. The soup, also lukewarm. Being that it’s summertime, the outside air was warmer than the soup I promise you. The chicken was incredibly dry and it was not shredded it was just tossed in as one giant chunk of chicken so then I had to prepare it at home by taking the chicken out and shredding it myself. The soup Is it like absolutely nothing. Not salt. Not chicken. Not spices or herbs. It tasted like yellow water. Then, to top it all off, inside of The to go container My soup came in, in the very bottom, was a melted piece of plastic which appeared to belong to a different to go container. Yes you read this right, inside of this container was melted plastic from another container. How? It was also served with fried tortilla strips, which is what is supposed to come with chicken tortilla soup. However these tortilla strips were so stale, I swear to you I was chewing on fried cardboard.

My partners chillaquilles were What resembled something you would toss in front of the hogs at a trough. Like somebody had stuck it in a salad bowl and went at it with a potato masher.

This is the second awful experience we have had with this restaurant. The first time, I had called and talk to a manager who explained to me that the food was not designed “to go”.

I cannot comprehend how this food quality was so low.

Top all of this off, this restaurant is not inexpensive. They claim to be authentic Mexican food, and their prices resemble a restaurant that claims that they are serving authentic Mexican food. Authentic or not, this Hass to be the worst dining experience that anybody can experience in the Fairborn area. The only thing going for them Hass to be the fact that they are the only Tex-Mex restaurant within walking distance to a college...

I have not been to a Don Patron restaurant until the one in Xenia was built. I have been at this location and I really need to get my thoughts out there. Let’s get the good things out of the way first. The service is excellent, the waiters and waitresses ALWAYS make sure you are taken care of. The restaurant is always clean and never dirty. Honestly that’s all the good I can say about the store… so let’s get started with the bad. Don Patron is completing with 2 other Mexican restaurants in Xenia, Los Mariachis and Acapulco. What Don Patron does different is introduce new flavors to the Mexican food competition, but sadly, those flavors are not a good thing. To make this short, all of Don Patron’s burritos have a distinct flavor, And it’s not just one or two burrito entrees, I’m assuming it’s all over them since having tried 3 completely different burrito entrees. The flavor is not great, is makes each dish taste odd… it almost makes you lose your appetite. The chicken is super bland, dry and unseasoned. The steak tastes super old and tough. I’ve chewed through gum more successfully than the steak here, half the time I just spit it out or swallow because it’s like chewing rubber. The rice is ok… the texture and flavor is like going to Walmart and grabbing a microwave bag of Spanish rice. The chips and salsa are the best thing here. I’ve had one desert dish here (the churros) and realized going to victors taco shop down the road has better churros for the price they ask for. The prices here are really high, much higher than the competition. I love new businesses coming to Xenia, I’m so glad we go Don Patron and Buffalo Wild Wings, and I want so badly for Don Patron to succeed, but from my experience with the food, and for. The experience of many others I personally know who have eaten here, changes need to be made. If you do eat here, please do not order the Burrito Patron… just trust me on that, it’s so oily and watery with a horribly flavor, just...

Let me start by saying that I searched "Great Mexican Restaurants" ... or something like that, and I came across Don Patron Mexican Restaurant in Fairborn, Ohio. I am still "fairly" new and not as social as most, but I do light up a room, energetically. I delved deeper and came across their video on their website and was even more intrigued, not just by the location, but by the energy of the owner in the video: all those in the segment were great. I was disappointed because Happy Hour is from 2-7. I work and just get off at 7 pm!

I decided to go anyway and asked my friend along. We were immediately greeted by the Concierge, the person behind the bar, and several other staff members as we were quickly shown our table (large booth with enough room for at least 10 adults...children are welcomed and the menu includes them).

We were greeted, again, by a nice young man who ASKED HOW WE WER DOING and said that he would return to take our order, which he did and it only took approximately 2 minutes! He asked what we would like to start with as far as drinks. I asked for suggestions on something strong and sweet. He suggested the Bahama Mama. EXCELLENT choice! I ordered the Steak and Shrimp! GET THE STEAK AND SHRIMP...GET EVERYTHING!!!! IM GOING BACK...TODAY!!!!!

AN ENORMOUS THANK YOU TO ELLIOTT OUR SERVER LAST NIGHT.. ..AND A SHOUT-OUT TO THE OWNER(S) OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT...BECAUSE ELLIOTT IS ALSO THE MANAGER!!!!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EATING HERE!!!! EVERY DAY!!!! ALL DAY!!!!!

PHENOMENAL ATMOSPHERE! INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT! OVER-THE-TOP SERVICE!!!!! #ELLIOTT FRESH AND FLAVORFUL AUTHENTIC QUISINE!!! GREAT LOCATION!!!! SAFE AND FAMILY FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT ❤️

SEE YOU...
