I’ve been a longtime fan of California Burrito in Fairfield. Between 2021–2023, when I worked for Apria Healthcare in Fairfield, this was my go-to lunch spot. My order was always the carne asada super burrito, and it never disappointed. I even bragged about this place whenever Fairfield came up in conversation.
After moving to work in Sacramento, I tried the other California Burrito locations but none of them came close to the quality of the Fairfield spot.
Recently, since I’m working back in Fairfield, I was excited to return. Unfortunately, my last visits left me a little disappointed: • On my first trip back (last week, during the day), the burrito was much smaller and didn’t have the same flavor I remembered. • On my second trip (this time at night), the burrito was bigger and tastier, closer to what I remembered, but still not quite the same.
It feels like the chefs or cooks have changed, and the consistency isn’t what it used to be. That said, this restaurant is still one of my favorite spots in Fairfield, and I’ll continue to come back. I truly hope the team reads this and brings back the perfection that made them stand out...

I order 7 Tacos for Taco Tuesday. Lady asked me if I wanted mini tacos. I said no, I want regular tacos. She asked again, you want mini tacos? Got my receipt and it showed 7 regular tacos at $5.30 each and 1 mini taco at $2.50. What? Taco Tuesday is $2.50. I asked what happened and lady said she asked me twice if I wanted mini tacos. Yeah, but you didn't say mini tacos are Taco Tuesday. Look at the sign in the window. it just says tacos for Taco Tuesday. What the hell is a mini taco? This is just misleading. Fine, I'll own up to the mistake.
Then why did you charge me for an 8th taco and then this one is a mini taco? So at some point you knew I wanted taco tuesday on a tuesday. What is going on here? She then says, fine I will take back the taco and refund you. I kid you not, she took the order back and removed a taco. ????? Then handed me $2.50 in cash. Lady, that's terrible customer service. Plus, not how you do math. $2.50 plus tax, you owe me another $0.21. But you seemed quite upset at this point and I am done...
Read moreThe Cordelia location is inconsistent with their service & availability of food. We usually get take out once a week. The last time I ordered 3 quesa birria tacos & only received 2. Found out when I got home had to drive back to the restaurant for the 3rd taco. Most of the time when I order the quesa birria tacos they aren't available even tho they are advertised. Then I have to special request the consume that goes with it. They don't even ask if you'd like some- they go together. Today I ordered a shrimp cocktail & it wasn't ull it was a quarter low, no avocado & barely any shrimp. No saltine crackers to go with the shrimp cocktail & no packets of Tapatio Sauce. This service & quality has been consistent over the last month. This is your business, these are the supplies you need for your business. Costco has saltines, Smart & Final has saltines, Walmart has saltines- so it's not supply restrictions. We are tired of this hit or miss service & quality, we will not be returning. We've given more than enough chancea over the last 6 weeks, thinking it will get better...
