Taco John's — Restaurant in Fairfield

I've been a fan of Taco John's for many years, but today's meal was NOT a good experience. I had a chicken taco salad (my usual go-to meal when I'm in a rush) and there were 2 major problems. 1.They have changed the design of the box the salad is served in, and it's impossible to eat it directly from the box which is tall and narrow. The salad looked tiny sitting in the bottom of this tall, skinny box, several inches below the top. If I had been trying to eat it in the car, I'm not sure what I would have done, but since I took it home to eat, I tried removing it from the box to a plate, but the space inside the box is too narrow to do that easily. So of course the shell broke apart and salad spilled everywhere. I ordered ranch dressing instead of my usual house dressing. They call it ranch, but I call it wallpaper paste. It tastes nothing like ranch dressing. In fact it doesn't taste like food. It's some chemical concoction that basically made the salad inedible.

Message to Taco John's: if you want to keep this customer, you'll get rid of the ridiculous box, and if you'll serve salad dressing that won't ruin the food...

Was here earlier and walked around some trying to pick a spot to be before ordering. Most of the tables were clean, and I wanted to use the bathroom really quick before eating. The toilet seat is incredibly small, literally the smallest I've ever ran across. And the toilet paper I'm pretty sure was 1 ply and there was barely any in there. Like 4 rolls but under probably 10 sheets left per roll. Just the vibes of the bathroom made me feel like the management must absolutely hate people. I ended up not using the bathroom or even wanting to order anymore. I get you don't want it to be the reason people come here.. but it shouldn't be the reason why people leave either like in my case. Get a better toilet and the toilet roll goes on the roll not just scattered around empty rolls. Not being mean, just helpful suggestions because I'm sure I'm not...

I’ve been here a few times with a friend and the service was mid at best. Today, I ordered tater tots bc they’re the only place that doordashes them here. I ordered a large and the app changed it back to a medium. I asked my dasher to request the size change at the window. I’ve had to make modifications countless times throughout the years I’ve been doordashing and every place was able to accommodate. Here, they refused to change the size. There were so many ways to fix this, but they didn’t even try.

Against my better judgement I also ordered a steak & potato griller. I requested no cheese because I have a severe dairy allergy. After my food finally arrived, I was trying not to be too mad about the tater tot situation, but I started breaking out and having reactions as I was eating burrito. They put cheese anyway....
