We drove an hour to try this place. We kept in touch for the waitlist to avoid waiting and when we checked in we still had to wait a whole hour before being seated. We had issues with people calling the wrong name. Not sure why but since moving here people struggle to say my name. It's just a simple name with a hyphen in between. We finally got seated and saw how insanely busy it was.it was the first time we tried the restaurent and I was excited to try the new York style steak but as we were shown the steaks all they had were Ribeye. We picked out steaks and were seated. I was pleased to see the booths are fluffy friendly (i am trying to lose weight so hopefully I won't have to worry about that anymore)
Stephanie was quite an enjoyable host keeping our spirits high and explaining everything. We did get a second server as they were taking breaks and what not.
We got the bread which surprised me I didn't realize it was like a cinnamon roll without the cream cheese. Pretty tasty!
We got our appetizers and it was all very nice. The drinks were pretty nice too.(tho my alcohol free drink had zero fizz) I thankfully ninja'd my way out of yeehawin' on a saddle for my birthday. I'm not a fan of getting attention so I'm quite glad they respected my choice to stay away from their tradition. Was pretty cool to see how many people share my birthday in the room tho lol
We got our steaks and quickly realized they accidentally switched mine and my mother in laws steak that we chose but as long as she didn't mind I was cool with it. I just didn't want bone and chose my steak cause I don't like the fatty bits in a steak (I know I'm weird)
We both asked for well done but our steaks were still pretty pink. I was a Lil disappointed but it still tasted good. Husband got the mac n cheese and let me taste it and it just straight up tasted like bland noodles. I'd suggest them to add more cheese to their recepy for sure.
It's a nice place, yup we might of chose one of the busiest day to come in and there was a squeeling teradactyl child that busted my ear drum two times buy it's a place to come in with family and chill.
Food was nice but there was some issues like the switched steak and not being cooked the way we wished and some of the sides were bland.
For me was it worth driving an hour to try it? It would be if I didn't have to wait an extra hour of wait time to get seated. Would I go back? Not really, but if I lived in the city I'd say yes. But the fact that I have to basicly wait 2 hours I'd say it's a no for me.
Do I regret going, no. I still enjoyed the food and what not.just this...
Read more2/23/25, 12:45pm, OMG! Best ever!! While on our way to Lake Tahoe from the SF Bay Area for our 42nd anniversary & looking for a place to eat at, like maybe a familiar certain color Bear Diner, we spotted a Texas Roadhouse in Fairfield. I reminded my wife how raved about the Peach Margarita she had at a Texas Roadhouse in Glendale Arz. and wondered if she wanted to see if they were just as good here in CA. I am also trying to find the best ribs to enjoy and was hoping to find them there. I did which made decide that, because the food tantalized my last buds, blew my mind, twisted my gord, that I had to, for my third time ever, write an online review. The sign at the entrance said something like Worlds Best Ribs, 1994. That peaked my interest. We were quickly seated, with a tasty bag of peanuts, a pail for the shells and a promise of fresh, hot bread, which quickly arrived. My wife said "I hope the rest of their food is as good as these rolls". Soon Vanessa, our waitress arrived with the Peach Margarita. Hooray! Just as good as Glendales. While the restaurant was full with the lunch crowd, our full slab of ribs, corn, mashed potatoes with brown gravy arrived with great timing. Indeed, the ribs did fall off the bone, few equal that in flavor. Lots of ribs fall off the bone, few equal that in flavor. Not only did the ribs fall off the bone as advertised, the flavors just deliciously burst in our mouths. Then my wife said, "You have to try the corn". It was so good. Amazing flavoring. I'm salivating now thinking about the combinations of flavoring in the mashed potatoes, then add the brown gravy? Are you kidding? Such a tasty meal! Being so impressed with the meal I found myself evaluating the entire operation knowing that everything must be operating so smoothly for this to be so successful. When I scanned the entire, inviting restaurant, almost without exception, all the staff seems to be smiling and enjoying what they were doing. Managers, even one in a cast, practice "management by wandering around", coming to every table to ensure our satisfaction. From experience, I know that can only come from the top, nice work. I could go on a bit more but won't. We must say, this amazing experience, does sadden us in one aspect, there isn't a Texas Roadhouse in the SF South Bay :-( however, we are hoping one will come to our area soon. Thanks again for the great food. Yes thing to do now is to.... enjoy our yummy leftovers. Thanks,...
Read moreWent to Texas Roadhouse for my brothers birthday, and we had set a waiting time, because they do not take reservations, and that’s fine. I have to say in all the years I’ve been coming there the quality of the food has changed. One thing that hasn’t changed are those delicious rolls, and that cinnamon butter. I pretty much should have had that for dinner. Texas Roadhouse and Cattleman’s used to be my go to whenever I wanted a good steak and a good meal. Cattleman’s is still the best. They haven’t changed and I hope they don’t. Anyway, it was extremely crowded, which it usually is, but someone needs to really re think the lay out of the seating. We had to squeeze way over in the corner in the back, so ok we did that, but we had other family members that were coming as well. Now here’s where you determine the customer service factor, if they have good customer service or not. The people sitting at the table offered their table to us, and literally were so kind as to say hey if we’re not done when they get here, they can sit with us, as it was only two more people joining us. Anyway, instead of the manager switching tables and having the other group sit at the other table, they wanted our other family members to sit on the other side of the restaurant. The manager would not relent, or make any exceptions as if it were out of her hands. It was ridiculous to watch. You ever look at someone and you know they are lying? Like the other people would not have known the difference, they would just go to their table. Anyway I’ll just end with this, I have never ever had a seat on the main floor, I’ve always been shoved in the way back corner if you know what I mean. And this is how Texas Road house is. No good customer service, well management anyway, the server was a sweet heart and poor thing I know she was exhausted but remained very calm in the midst of all the madness. She should be the manager. The food has changed, but not the rolls. So if you are looking for some great bread with great butter. Texas Roadhouse is the place, looking for a good steak and food? Go to Cattleman’s . Thank you so listening, and sorry so long. I will not be returning after all these years to...
