Edit: Finally got my donuts. No strings attached, no back and forth. Donuts were pretty good. The icing and jelly filling tasted homemade so I appreciated that. Donuts themselves could be a smidge softer, but still good.
Wasted my day. Drove over there for a dozen donuts with a coupon I got in the mail, and wanted to buy some more if I liked them. Added a cupcake for my wife as promised. Then I'm told they dont accept my coupon at THIS LOCATION. When I go to walk out the door, I'm asked to pay for the cupcake I picked out, even though I cant even get the thing I came in for.
They're the first result on Google for "Becker's Donuts." They're all part of the same chain of donut shops, but they dont all accept the same coupons. Make me drive to their "parent store" owned by "distant cousins" to redeem the coupon, only to find out they're not even open because they apparently CLOSE AT 12PM!!
I wouldnt have cared if when I got to their parent location it was at LEAST open. I cant even go in the morning like they suggested because they are both closed on Mondays.
45 minutes out of my day, my gas wasted driving up one end of Lorain Road and then back down the opposite direction to be met with locked doors. If the coupon is meant to get you to curious about local businesses, it had the opposite effect. If I can go in on Tuesday and actually get what I want without going on another trek across North Ridgeville, I'll revise my review, but until then, I am...
Read moreI’m writing this to warn people not to do orders from here!!
I am giving them two stars instead of one because the pastries did turn out good and they tried to fix their mistake but I would never do a pre order from here again. We ordered 120 pastries for my fathers 60th surprise birthday. We were told there would be a variety of pastries including cream puffs and kolachkys. When picked up I was given 60 cookies and brownies and charged what I was told the price would be for 120 mixed pastries. We had to call and then wait over an hour while they made more. Thank goodness I picked these up two hours before the party instead of on the way or we would have had no dessert. We wanted to support a local business and have a variety of desserts for people to pick and choose. Their reviews are good because the food tastes good but it seems that all the bad reviews are from them screwing up orders. On top of this we were told to pick up by 2. We called earlier on the day of pick up and they said they were not ready and we told them we wouldn’t be able to get them till closer till 4 then. I came at 3:30 and they looked at me like I was crazy for being there. They had nothing ready and told me it would take 20 minutes to put a tray together. We put trust into this business and they almost ruined the big surprise birthday event we had been...
Read moreComing from a state that is dominated by a commercial donut franchise, it was quite refreshing and scrumptious to come across this neighborhood donut shop. You walk in and right away the donut displau lures you in. As I walk around I see awards and the cool looking machinery used to produce their other baked goods. First impression: I liked the level of sweetness on the filling of the donuts, since in my oinion other places have them too sweet, the texture on the donut is interesting since its more breadlike compared to a Krispy Kreme experience which is a combination of sugar overload and the dough texture so “airy” that it almost seems you are eating sugar on air.
Nonetheless if I am in the neighborhood, I will be sure to...
