Possibly the worst experience my girlfriend and I have ever had going to a recommended place in her area. First off , the only good experience was the hostess. She was prompt and polite. But…. Everything after was so unorthodox and lack luster. After the hostess sat us … we waited 10-15 minutes before any service greeted or presented us with a menu. We then ordered some waters to start , that took 20 mins…. (At this point we are counting the clock. Because we have been here a half hour already….. and nothing). When she finally came back we had ordered cheese fries for an app…. At that point we had noticed our water tasted weird and that our cups were chipped (badly) and had things floating in the water. We wanted to tell the server but yet again we hadn’t seen her for over 15 mins. Our app arrives and we finally get to tell another server about the water. After, Our server finally comes back and we order food at this point. We didn’t even bother ordering alcohol because we were certain that would take forever aswell. So then our food comes and it’s a complete mess. I ordered the Big G which is understandable… but I ordered the burgers medium and I got well done. Then I look over to see the disgust on my partners face. All the juice from her burger came out on the plate after on bite and left a red and grease puddle that was a clear sign her sandwich was over cooked. She ordered the Beast med rare. She got a well done hockey puck. With the consistency of carpet. We both agreed that this isn’t the best burgers in Cleveland and that you all clearly have a spam farming fan base. Still in this moment we maintained our composure . When we were finshed or as finished as we could be. Our server took our plates. Then 20 minutes later our server came back and asked if we wanted desert. We said no. Then 20 minutes later finally brought the check . Then it sat on the table for over 15 minutes . So I got up and assumed we had to check out at the bar or front desk. This wasn’t the case but someone helped me get the check along. About 3”20 mins later she finally returned with our receipt and we were Finally free to go home. We defiantly felt like we were trapped in your restaurant and the food was the same par as an...
Read moreWent to Gunselmans Tuesday at lunchtime with my wife and adult son. We had tried to eat brunch somewhere else but the service was terrible at that other place so we left. Gunselmans was awesome. It was our first time there. We had seen them on TV shows like new day Cleveland several times and they absolutely lived up to the hype. Gunselmans appeared very crowded from the street. There's not enough parking, but hey it's that good so a lot of people are trying to get in. We parked in the street and walked in. We were greeted instantly once inside and allowed to seat wherever we felt comfortable. There were multiple rooms of tables as well as an outside patio area. It was overcast so we chose inside. A waitress brought us silver ware and menus very quickly and asked if we had any questions. She came back once but we needed more time to decide on everything we wanted. We ordered a barbecue burger, a burger with pepperoni (can't remember the name), a rueben and s side of onion rings. The food came out quickly and was cooked to perfection. We ordered medium well burgers. Hamburgers shouldn't be eaten as rare as steaks. My wife and i split - she gets half my burger, i get half her rueben. This way we each get to try more stuff. Everything was excellent. Portions were perfect. Almost too much but just right. Burgers came with fries and cheese sauce for dipping. The side of onion rings was very large and came with an excellent sauce for dipping. Good value from an appetizer is rare, but this was well worth $6. The burgers and rueben ranged from $13-$17. All said we spent just over $20 per person and we were all full and very happy with the quality of the food. Gunselmans is a tavern, not really a restaurant. So not really for small children, but it was clean and well managed. Clientel was well managed professional to casual well behaved regulars. No riff raff or hints it was a punch palace or anything like that. There were several TVs showing football replays - espn and the like. As well as several juke boxes and lottery terminals. I never felt cramped despite it not being as large as some chain restaurants. I'd highly recommend and definitely plan on returning or taking advantage or Gunselmans to...
Read moreMy cousin, a US Army veteran who requires a service animal (wearing vest with required information), her kids and I stopped in this afternoon so I could treat them to lunch after their flight in from Florida. We walked in and sat down. Shortly after we arrived, a manager swiftly came over to our table and said “I need to see the dog’s paperwork, the owner doesn’t like dogs in here.” My cousin immediately became anxious and couldn’t really even explain the laws related to service animals so I had to let them know what their responsibilities as a business owner are to comply with the ADA regulations. She said she was going to call the owner to see what to do. We sat there for a moment to see if they’d come back and ended up leaving about 10 mins to find another restaurant. This is a disgrace to anyone who needs a service animal, especially a veteran who’s served this country for us all. I will never step foot in this place again. The worst!!!!!
UPDATE: Check out this lame response from the owner. They are implying that we were not respectful, which is totally false. We had no obligation that was not fulfilled, the service animal was clearly marked with the vest you see in this photo. It's the business owner's responsibility to know the laws and ADA regulations related to service animals and make sure their staff are trained on this. This owner's staff did not honor nor respect my cousin, a US Army Veteran, who served...
