John's Diner — Restaurant in Fairview Township

Wow ! Wow Wow!!!!! Walked in the door famished , and was Happily greeted by a lovely , outgoing woman named Amanda.... New to the menu, and taking to go...She was quite helpful with my choices , as well as recommending items!!!! Awesome ! I wound up having steak and crabby cake , as well as breaded shrooms , tater, seafood bisque soup and salad.... Yes....I was hungry... Aside from the fabulous service and hospitality....allow me to throw propers in the name of foods sake....stand up...across the board... A.Salad bar: Well maintained with fresh ingredients... A.slaw was PERFECT.... B.MAC SALAD delish. Tater salad...bit more black pepper for my taste , but yummy. Entree's... Breaded shrooms are ab fab...flavorful and not over juicy , or over breaded... Baked tater. Dont normally , but loaded with provided fixing and feasted skin and all!steak and crabbycake. Crabbycake was delish...nice blend of crabby and cake. Cooked nicely. MD O.G....So a bit more old Bay 4 me, , but that's me...the dead cow.... I requested it twitching on the plate RARE...and wasn't dissappointed!... offered A1 , but if that cow cant hold its own.... Only problem was...as I was walking back to my motel....(to go remember)... They prepared Bessie so well , that she kicked my leg and tried to swim away in the aujou dip!!!! Nicely done cook Staff... ...almost4 got about the seafood bisque....just came from O.C.M.D.and every bit as good as there.... AB FAB SERVICE A+ prep ,execution and taste.... Wonderful experience across the board... 12/10.... Must try...yes goto... Thank you John's, and Amanda for a deliteful experience for a hungry weary traveler....Will talk of this as I travel...

We have been visiting this establishment for last 5 years ordering chicken-kabob platter. The place is bit far from our location, and we have even been supportive even visiting them right after places reopened after pandemic, and it was always fine. Last night we had unpleasant experience when we were charged for an extra salad bar (while paying for one as part of dinner-special, as per specials menu) without the server clearly telling us she's is going to do so. If we had known it was extra - I would not have gone to the salad bar. The whole reason I used to love their salad bar is the soup, and last night all 3 were pretty bad. Chicken Kabob was dry and hard to chew, the platter was missing pita bread and sauce. Gyro platter was disappointment considering $15 we paid for it, Mushrooms on my burger were clearly canned kind, not fresh, and burger meat itself was of a questionable quality. Manager refused to refund the extra salad bar, and even told us it was not included, while it is clearly on the menu . Neither Manager, Server or Cashier apologize or anything, even after we told them we are not coming back. We have kept calm and did not Karen, as we are not that kind of a customer. But "customer's always" right it was not this...

First time l went to this restaurant. I went with a friend for lunch. She got turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy and soup and salad bar. I got spaghetti with meatball and sauce and soup and salad bar. I should have known that when it says meatball they mean 1 meatball. It was good but not that big. They made their money on me because they cooked spaghetti, and poured plain sauce on it , and put the meatball in the middle of the plate. It tasted good but l took it home and ate it for supper that night. Anyone who has been to John's knows why. The soup and salad bar. It's got everything but bread. If they put bread it would be perfect! I was full at lunch before l even got my hot lunch. Now let's talk about my friend. She had so much turkey and mashed potatos and stuffing and gravy that she couldn't finish her salad bar and ate some turkey meal there but took the rest home and made 2 meals out of it! I have never seen so many potatos on a plate before! When l left John's l got a piece of a chocolate cake to take home. They didn't call it chocolate cake but l don't remember what it's called. 'Heaven'! Of course being a chocoholic, anything chocolate is wonderful, but this was...
