As far as Greek fast food goes, it is pretty standard. The gyro is nothing to brag about. The dining area is clean, but a slightly sticky tabletop meant they are not cleaned properly. The service was friendly and willing to answer questions. They had desserts and other items available, but not listed on the menu board. I like to start with some pitas and hummus, but it is not on the menu. They do sell flatbread and hummus as a takeout but I had to ask about it. The star here is the gelato. I tried the caramel cookie, and it was at the perfect texture and very good flavour.
My meal was spicy gyro and a small Greek salad. The salad appeared to be bulk made and I didnt feel like finishing it. The gyro did not seem spicy. When I asked, it seems the sauce is a spicy feta sauce instead of traditional tzatziki. It was thicker, creamier, than tzatziki, but it didnt seem spicy.
I always have to check bathrooms. At first glance, it appeared clean. A closer look told me no one here knows how to properly clean. The metal above the porcelain was heavy covered in green rust. There was a plunger near the toilet covered with chunks of toilet paper, dried on.
I would have given them 4/5, but deducted a star for cleanliness.
UPDATE 6/9/22
I have visited a few more times, mai ly for the gelato. Today I had a regular gyro and seasoned fries. Caramel gelato for dessert. I stand by my previous assessment of the good being average, and the gelato above average. The table today was not sticky. My previous two visits the table was sticky. Might be a need for staff training. The front end people are...
Read moreMy son loves this fast food, made to order, Greek restaurant. He always gets a kid's meal. It includes a gyro, choice of side and a drink. The menu went through an update and it took getting used to the new Basmanti rice and automatically seasoned fries. But they are definitely playing up the healthier options compared to typical fast food joints. My meal was 86ed unfortunately, but I now get the build your own bowl. It is basically a salad with rice, choice of meat and suace. It is filling and priced fairly. This is a great lunch place and the food runners are always nice to us. They understand we leave the table a little messy. No need to bus dishes, it is part of the service. Great people and great food, just how we like it.
10.1.2016 We got our gyros to go today. The pitas were not as fresh as they usually are or maybe they changed the vendor/recipe? My son even noticed his kids meal was much smaller than usual. The fries weren't crispy and the rice was a bit wet. We will probably not be back for a while. It's a lot of money and the quality has slipped since the new menu rolled out. On the plus side, bottled water is now an option with your combo. And we really like the taste...
Read moreThe food was fine. But I ordered online and I sat in the online ordering spot in the parking lot - the one directly in front of the window giving staff a direct view of the vehicle - for 45 minutes. I had work to finish so I let it go for 20 minutes, then 30 minutes. No one noticed me despite a 10 minute limit on the sign.
Ridiculously, I continued to sit. An older female brunette employee actually walked right in front of my vehicle, stared and smiled...and continued to her vehicle.
Finally, after watching staff talk and laugh and pacs around for 45 minutes I walked inside. They hadn't started my order and after they'd completed it I asked if they were sure everything was in the bag. TV he young man behind the counter said yes. I pointed out that the extra tzatziki on the SIDS had not been included. Sheepishly, he walked back into the prep area and retrieved them.
There are plenty of other Giro spots in ths Twin Cities. Try one of...
