Note to readers: Please read the entire review I’ve provided as there is both good and bad elements and in fairness to the business I want to provide a complete overview. Thanks! First the not so good stuff: Food is standard / unspecial and my meal seemed very heavy and dense. The offerings are mostly what you might expect from a standard Asian-fusion menu. One nice feature of the menu is that in addition to Chinese cuisine, New Fresh Wok also offers a sushi bar. Personally, I was not impressed with the food and the three other people I dined with, all of which ordered different items, generally felt the same way but as a vegetarian I was particularly underwhelmed. If you do find something on their menu that you like, then you are in luck because the portions are absolutely enormous!! I mean huge, like massive. So expect to go home with to-go containers as well. The other unfortunate report is that the bathrooms are very unclean - it was sort of nightmare getting my toddler to use the facilities giving that every surface was basically a petri dish. They could definitely do much better in the house keeping department without question. Now for the good and even great stuff: This restaurant features a very unique serving staff! You order your food up at the front of the house but then……wait for it…..soon arrives a robotic kitty waitress who brings each table their food, equipped with under-glow, LED whiskers and a little musical tune announcing its arrival and departure. This was A BIG HIT with all the kiddos at the restaurant, including mine, and it was fun to experience this novelty in action. Hard not to smile. Additionally, the restaurant features another playful automation system - cotton candy machine! For $5 you can choose from a wide variety of shapes and colors (flowers/hearts/domes etc) and the machine spins up a sugary confection and everyone who did this while I was at the restaurant left with a big smile. The kids generally loved the cotton candy machine as much, if not more, than the two kitty robots zooming around the modest-sized dining room. I hope this review helps folks make some informed decisions in your eating-out adventures in the Twin Cities!

I had been here a few other times to eat lunch and dinner, and I decided to stop again for a lunch special. It was not very busy and sat at a booth because I like window seats. I noticed the front counter menu had reasonable prices for lunch, but when I got the menu and was sitted, they were different (i.e., more $). Their menu hss a huge selection, overall for different foods. The lunch specials are standard selection and fare, execpt it seemed cheap to me that they charge extra of a wonton or egg soup egg roll, which the server did not let me know. My server was not attentive and never brought me water, and was slow on refilling my iced tea. Also, she did not ask me whether I wanted white rice or what it came with...After I asked her she said, it came with chicken fried rice, which was not greasy when my order arrived. I thought my lunch portion was small and not a lot of food. And my iced tea was overpriced, even with the lemon..As far as the taste of the food, it was not overly greasy or oily or lathered in sauce..But was not as spicy as I like it, even though it was supposed to be a spicy dish. When it came time to pay, she took my money, to settle the bill and never came back with change, which told me she assumed that is all for her and was entitled to a tip...It was the assuming part and not thinking to ask me in the process...The litmus test for what is a good server or bad, for me, is in that...along with attentive service. I don't mind leaving a tip, but don't just assume because everyone else does it...So that left a bad taste in my mouth, that and finding a HAIR on my plate after I was done...What? I am hope I did not ingest any woman hair.. It grossed me out and the servers were to busy to care...I can't give this place and good marks , besides their food was seemed healthier than other Chinese type restaurants in the Twin Cities....Bad lunch experience and poor marks for apathetic servers who automatically expect a tip and don't bother to make sure with the customer is satisfied.

After seeing good reviews here and wanting Chinese food I decided to give this place a try for takeout. It was sooo good! We got the Orange Chicken, Orange Chicken w/ Fried rice and pork eggroll, General Tso's Tofu, Vegetable Egg Rolls and the A.A.C Roll. My kids loved the Orange Chicken. Menu said it was spicy but they didn't find it to be much at all, which is great. Thought it was more than reasonable portion for the price.. There was a lot more Fried rice and another order of Orange Chicken but kids ate half of it before taking picture.. Being a vegetarian myself, there's so many options. The tofu I got was really favorable and the texture was just right. The vegetable Egg roll (not pictured and didn't taste the pork one) had a cinnamon flavor. Possibly five-spice powder. Never had that before and was so pleased with the taste. Can't wait to dine some time!

I would leave zero stars if it was allowed on here! Employees are extremely dishonest and there is no management. A phone went missing from our table and we asked the "waitress" to please check the menus in case it was accidently left in the fold of one of them or between the menus when she took them away. They said they "looked"...then we asked that they check the cameras because the phone WAS AT THE TABLE FOR A FACT and no one had left the table or the restaurant during our visit. They said there was no phone. My aunt said she was going to call the police, and then after almost an hour of searching(the car, our pockets, purses, the floor, the counter tops, other patrons on the restaurant checked their table, floor) and calling the cellphone carrier the waitress reappeared with the phone and said it was on the counter where the menus were stored. Then as we sat there, eating our COLD food, a Saint Anthony police officer showed up (I guess the waitress called them) and we watched her talking to him and pointing to us. My aunt and I went up to them and she claimed that we accused her of stealing it....the officer looked really confused because I explained we found the phone and were over the entire thing and he was unsure why he even showed up....it was clear that she had taken the phone (accident or not....and it was NOT after all....) I cannot believe there was no management there and everyone was so rude. She asked why we would leave a phone on a menu....all we asked was that they check the menus just to make sure, the person who lost the phone was young and in tears at the table and one of the male employees was being SO blatantly rude to us about it. Also, when the phone was returned the screen was wet AND the volume was off which was odd because it was turned on high before it went missing. Extremely disappointed in the atmosphere, the service and the food. My family will never return here ever again and I will make sure everyone is aware of what kind of service to...
