Terra Nostra Restaurant — Restaurant in Fall River

i grew up eating here every Friday with my dad … I ordered 3 steak plates with extra steak sauce on the side … yes I haven’t been there in about 5-6 yrs but usually when you order a steak plate.. 99.9% of them come wit rice , french fries , egg & a portuguese roll for each plate … i paid $71 for a over cooked steak .. it was soooo chewy & so dry! I was so disappointed. I also remembered growing up getting what I had just said the rice, egg ,fries & steak … so i called back thinking they may have forgot the rice … the woman who took my order was SO RUDE!!! & she should have told us “ ok so 3 steak plates with fries?” nope she said 45mins & price …. it was my fault not opening the to go box to see if it was correct but you think paying that much you are getting what you ask for

when I called back to say something the girl once again with her cocky attitude said her -“ well that’s not what you ordered you said steak plate “ me -“ ok i understand but 99.9% portuguese restaurants always give fries,rice & the egg “ her -“ well not here you should have asked for the rice with egg as well as the fries “ me -“ ok again i assumed they came with it seeing i paid $71! “ her -“ ok well nothing i can do are u bringing it back ? “ me “ your joking right? … have a great night!” her - Hangs Up!

so my boys & I was so disappointed when i was boosting them up saying you guys will LOVE the steak … it was the worst steak i’ve had in a longggg time it was so dry so over cooked ( i did not ask for over cooked again she didn’t ask tho ) and soo chewy

im not saying this is alllll the time because i know they have amazing food! but that experience i had a few weeks ago really put a bad taste in my mouth ( no pun intended lol ) just really disappointing the people taken the orders on the phone should make sure we no what comes with the meal without having a massive attitude when we ask a question … & it bothers me more that even tho the girl was sooo disrespectful my order was wrong i still gave her a good Tip and i picked it up myself and usually u don’t give as much as i did for a tip but that’s just me ….

I have been trying this place on and off for 15 years now. And I honestly don't even know why I keep punishing myself from even trying it. This was the final straw for me. We came on Mother's Day with reservations made for 3:00 p.m. for four adults and one child while we waited in line not one person came up to us for 15 minutes I finally hunted somebody down and asked them if anybody was going to see the people with reservations. Finally the hostess came back over and said a gentleman would come and help us. He ended up sitting two other parties who were larger than us who did not have reservations and then another party of larger than us the had reservations later than us. Finally 45 minutes later we were finally seated and the waiter came over and informed us that the wait for food was 45 minutes to an hour and he suggested to do the buffet. Since the weight was already so long and our child was very hungry we obliged and just did the buffet in ordered Soup for the little one half hour goes by and still no soup for my son I had to hunt down somebody else and ask them for the soup. The food was okay the service was terrible and I know it was packed because of a holiday but shame on them because it is not just only today that we had issues with service there. Out of the dozen times we've gone I've only had one positive experience. Then to top it all off the gratuity of 20% was added to our bill! When it clearly says right on the menu that it's parties of six or more. Not to mention the waiter did not remove any of our plates at all. the appetizer came out an hour later and again I literally had to hunt down somebody for my son's soup. So after spending almost $200 for five people having lukewarm buffet food and having to pile our plates on a tiny table and a horrible waiting experience in horrible table service I am just over it this is the final straw I really don't even understand how this restaurant has such...

Went there this weekend great food fast service friendly staff. Ask for Mimi she was so friendly, attentive to our special requests prob one of the best servers we ever had..My 9 year old loves the steak plate 15.95 cleaned the plate said it was the best steak, so soft loved the sauce (gravy) dunked his bread , Gus the owner came over and loved to see my son's plate polished clean..deff will be back. Saturdays they have a all you can eat buffet starts at 5pm they also do the same buffet on Sunday starting at 1pm I think..buffet choices are always the same. white rice mixed veggies, codfish,roasted chicken,chourico&potatoes,roasted pork loin with portugese stuffing, St Micheal steak w/ spicy red peppers and eggs, french fries, and salad...all in stainless covered heated chafer trays, great price @20$ per person..no drinks included...they also have a kid friendly menu or smaller appetites..chicken tenders with fries 5$ is a steal cheaper the McDonald's..Restaurant decor a little dated but it's clean and food is perfect, prices are fair."
