We experienced almost the exact same uncomfortable situation described by another reviewer. Our family has been loyal customers of this Vietnamese restaurant for over five years, visiting weekly. Unfortunately, this time was deeply disappointing. After our meal, we left a 15% tip under the bowl, but the young waitress actually ran outside after us, sternly demanding more tip money.
The irony is, she barely provided any service — the Spanish gentleman brought our water and served our food. It felt extremely unfair. Over the past six months, prices at this restaurant have already increased by $3–4 per dish, yet the service quality has only declined. Even the most basic courtesy, like a friendly smile, seems to have disappeared. We were greeted with visible annoyance the moment we walked in.
Perhaps they assumed we weren’t locals and could be taken advantage of. The situation was embarrassing; we only wanted to end the awkwardness quickly since many people were watching at the door. In all our years dining out, we’ve never been chased down for extra tips. Ironically, many Vietnamese customers here don’t leave tips at all — yet as people who also work in the restaurant industry, we understand how hard service work can be and have always shown respect and generosity.
But this experience left us humiliated and disappointed. Even good food cannot make up for the lack of respect. Spending money only to be treated this way is unacceptable. We won’t be coming back, and we hope other diners think twice before visiting — this place has lost sight of the very principles that define...

I have been to this place to eat three times. The food is decent and suits my taste. However, the owner and staff are terrible and disrespectful to customers. I know they are a family, but that does not excuse their lack of respect.
The first time I went, I left with a 15% tip for two meals. The second time, when paying, the owner asked me, "Do you want to tip?" I know tipping is optional, not mandatory, so I replied that I had left cash tips on the table. I found it very rude to ask such a question.
Today was the last time I will come here. When I sat down, the table smelled bad, and the sauce bowl still had remnants of dish soap. The portion was also smaller compared to before (I usually have Bun Bo Hue). I know they prefer cash because it helps them avoid taxes, so I paid in cash.
I was already unhappy with the owner's attitude from the previous visit, so I did not leave a tip this time. As Im waiting for the owner to take the money, the waiter came up and whispered to him that I did not leave a tip. After paying the exact amount and turning to leave, the owner called me back and asked, "Why didn't you tip?" I replied that tipping is a optional. The waiter yelled at me, "don't come back, just get takeout." As I walked away, the owner yelled, "Don't come back!"
I am very...
Read moreTrue hidden gem inside plaza/mall of Eden Center. This is family owned noodle spot that features limited menu items like Chicken Pho, Beef Phi, and Bun Bo Hue. All soup items are specialty. If you look out anything else other than noodle soup, go to other places. We found this as first time venturing off to Eden Center. Was questioning the hole in the wall of this restaurant, but decided to try it and man glad we did. I got the Bun bo Hue, you get the entire pig feet, you can't get more authentic than this. Other review mentioned it's best in the area. And I absolutely agree! Beef pho was amazing too. The soup is legit. Price wise it's $10 for most of the noodle dishes. Which to bench mark it is expensive for a bowl but it's worth every penny. It's our regular stop almost every other weekend if we come through...
