Delightful little Vietnamese eatery serving massive portions of vegan and allium-free cooking. Dieu Huong (previously known as Thanh Van) Restaurant serves more varieties of tofu and seitan than I originally thought possible, with each dish packed with flavor, protein, and veggies. They sell each of their dishes by weight / container, so it's a great place to go if you just don't want to cook for the week or want to stock up on a bit of delicious Vietnamese vegetarian cooking.
However, if you do manage to snag a spot at one of the four tables inside their tiny, hole-in-the-wall shop, you can sample a few of their lovely dishes immediately. I visited for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, and my friend and I both got one of their combo platters, which comes with three dishes of our choice, a bed of rice, and a side of soup. I honestly could not tell you what any of the dishes are called, as we decided to just try to sample as many of the selection as possible, but every single item was incredible. It was all packed with flavor and had a phenomenal texture; both tofu and seitan act like sponges and soak up all the sauces and seasonings, so each bite feels like an explosion of flavor.
If you aren't sure what to get, I would recommend just getting a combo platter to sample as many things as possible, and then get a to-go container of whatever your favorite was. Or, if you want a slightly more curated experience, they also have a menu with pre-selected combinations or soup / noodle dishes you can...
Read moreIn order to access this restaurant, you have to go inside the tiny "mall" that is in the Eden Center. This place is very small and can probably only seat around 15-20 people. Very strong hole-in-the-wall vibes. Unfortunately, it's not one of those hidden gems, in my opinion.
I came with someone who had been here before, and we ended up getting one of their dishes in which they give you rice and then a bunch of mixed food on top of it. Everyone ends up with something different. The food itself was quite good, and a lot of the food tasted quite meaty even though this place is vegetarian. However, the food was lukewarm, which really took away from the experience. In addition, they were shooting off firecrackers for New Year's inside the restaurant. They were extremely loud and the firecrackers went on for over a minute when they would shoot them off (which seemed to be at random...

Their noodles soups are excellent. And ask for hot tea instead of water. It is free.
Authentic Vegetarian Vietnamese food. You can order from the menu or choose items from the spread. The menu has noodle soups and other items. I was there for lunch and my friend suggested to try the rice and curries. I had bamboo shoot, tofu, tofu skin, stuffed bitter melon, wrapped veg "sausage" etc. Food was excellent and I loved it. It was as if I was eating in Vietnam. Bittermelon is an acquired taste, I like it now but didn't when I was younger. This place is inside the strip mall in Eden center. This is the only vegetarian restaurant there, the name of the place didn't...
