Moby Dick House of Kabob — Restaurant in Falls Church

Moby Dick House of Kabob is one of the BEST restaurants on the planet! As a Persian woman, I know good food when I taste it. I would like to thank Moby Dick in Falls Church for my amazing salmon kabob that I had delivered tonight. They always take good care of me. The salmon was given in large, juicy, freshly grilled portions, cooked to perfection. This wonderful restaurant goes to great lengths to add unique touches to your meal that you won't find elsewhere- yummy slices of grilled onion, grilled tomato, a nice, large wedge of lemon with your meal, and delicious cucumber yogurt that is authentic and fresh. They put love into their food. I love the salads they offer, and their two soups are incredibly healthy. Their bread is wonderful and baked fresh. I spoke to a staff member on the phone recently and she was very kind and accomodating. They work so hard to keep customers happy and have a lot of loyal people coming back regularly. Thank you for continuing to provide incredibly delicious and healthy food to people, even during this difficult pandemic. My family loves your food too! :) Please note that all their various Kabobs are incredible including the chicken, kubideh, chenjeh, barreh (lamb), chicken wings and more, including vegetarian options! The Ghormeh Sabzi was perfectly cooked along with the lovely basmati rice and tahdig. I have been going to Moby Dick's since they had only the 1 location in McLean and the food is really good. However, our experience with the Falls Church location was less than stellar. The food was good but understanding the menu and communicating with the staff proved to be a problem. The menu isn't quite clear as to what you get when ordering a combo - rice, salad and/or pita - we couldn't tell so we asked and ordered based on what we thought the woman behind the counter said. When we got our bille it was higher than we thought it should be because apparently we ordered "extras" without knowing it and we ended up with food we didn't want - the only thing they got right was the type of meat we ordered - which was tender and yummy, but not worth the hassle of dealing with...

I ordered a gyro platter which I usually order at Mobydick. When the person at the front desk rang the total on the screen, I saw the tax which was more than 10%??? Since when does the Falls Church, VA have a sales tax of more than 6%? The last time I checked it was still 6%. Is this way of robbing customers by manipulating the sales tax? I told the guy at the front desk “tax is pretty high”. He simply responded by “it is, do you still want to pay for it?” He still did not explain why the sales tax was more than 10%.
