Fabio’s in Scotch Plains Fanwood #scotchplainsfanwoodnj #eat #onebiteeveryoneknowstherules

Wanted so badly to support this local business. Had a horrible experience on Halloween and vowed to never go back. In spite of ourselves, we decided to give them another shot yesterday. Ordered online through Slice. Quoted 45 min delivery. Get another email, delivery goes up to an hour. After an hour and 15 minutes, called Fabio's, waited on hold, and was bounced around before learning that our order was being packaged and sent out then. Fine. 15 minutes later, order arrives. Pizza ($20) arrives with the cheese all fallen to one side. Some slices have no cheese, others are swamped in it. Mozzarella sticks appear barely cooked. Cold inside, maybe lukewarm outside. Cheese is firm and not melted in the slightest. Caesar salad (8.25) is a bowl full of yellowed and browning lettuce and dressing - that's it. No croutons or cheese to begin to justify the price tag. Worst part? Called Fabio's to try to discuss my issues last night before writing a reviewing and swearing off the restaurant for good. Owner was incredibly rude. 90 minute wait time on Friday is "normal" -- interesting that this was not communicated at all. Cut me off multiple times as I tried to explain my experience. Salad could not have been brown, he said. Curious, because IT WAS. Owner then called Slice to explain that it was a busy night and he "just wanted to make it right with me." If I had felt ANY piece of that on the phone, I might feel differently now. With so many good pizza options in the area and so many lovely business owners who are appreciative of their customers, don't give your money to this place, please.

I’m truly puzzled by how this establishment maintains a 5-star rating. I recently ordered a large pizza, garlic knots, a Coke, and Tortellini soup for a weekend gathering with friends, and it was a major disappointment. The pizza was mediocre at best, and the sauce was overly sweet. The garlic knots had a rubbery texture and lacked any significant flavor—perhaps a bit of seasoning could help. Additionally, while the menu listed Coke as an option, I received Pepsi instead, come on man.. The Tortellini soup was straight garabge—it contained only old tortellinis floating in water, and for $9, it was a poor value. A touch of parsley on top doesn’t compensate for the lack of flavor or substance. Overall, this experience was highly overrated, overpriced, and underwhelming. I pity Fanwood because this place as their local pizzeria. Smh. Never again Fabio, never again.

First let me say the place was neat and clean. The service and the food however was terrible. 1)We showed the waitress our coupon 1st which had multiple offers. The one we wanted to use said 20% off entrees. 2) We ordered fried calamari appetizer and two small salads. The waitress asked if we wanted the salad with the calamari, we said yes. The salads came out when we were almost finished the calamari. 3) One of our party was torn between the eggplant rollatini and the chicken parm. Since he couldn't decide which to get, he told the waitress he couldn't decide between the two, and asked her to decide which one for him and surprise him. He was served shrimp oreganata, where did that come from? 4) My sister ordered cavatelli with broccoli. The broccoli was so overcooked it was mush. The sauce was very lemony, which is not customarily how that dish is prepared. 5) I ordered linguine with white clam sauce, they had no linguine but served it with, way too al dente fettuccine. The sauce was very lemony; I've never had this dish anywhere with lemon. 6) My husband ordered the chicken parm. The fresh sauce on the spaghetti was tasty, the chicken not so much. 7) When drinks were refilled, they filled my husband's glass with my nephew's beverage and vice versa. 8) We were staggered to see the bill was $80+ dollars for a local pizzeria. They didn't take the discount off and seemed surprised when we mentioned the coupon. She took the bill back and credited us with the wrong coupon, 1/2 off one entree. We asked about the 20% and they said it wouldn't amount to as much of a discount, thinking the discount applied to only one entree, even though the coupon clearly stated entrees. 8) The coupon also said "free cannoli for dessert", when we asked about it the waitress said we had to ask for it. She brought us each out a mini cannoli, which wasn't a surprise since it was free.

Although the staff was friendly and cheerful, they were clearly clueless. We will never go back again. It seems so many people rave about the pizza, but seeing what was sitting out waiting to be sold by the slice, I would never chance...

If I can give zero, I will. I keep having bad experiences however keep giving chances because of the kids. Having experience the long wait we ordered early. If they are honest about the wait time and what's going on, I would have had a better understanding and respect for the efforts. I don't know where to begin with the experience. There was a time on a week day, it took 2 hours, we got there they couldn't locate the order, then they tell me 30 more minutes. I told them to disregard the order, I went somewhere else. There is no apology, do not concern them attitude. Months go by, we try them again long wait, no much change. Superbowl Sunday, I definitely know there will be long wait but I didn't want to go out. We ordered early about 5:50, slice says it was 30 mins we know from experience is not possible. Less than 1 min after the order was completed and confirmed, I received a text message that changed it to 6:52- 7:07. Then another change to 7:15 to 730. About 740 I called no answer. Called a few times no answer. My husband called right after me with his phone they pickup! Wow! I'm upset they were willing and ready taking new orders while avoiding calls from waiting customers. Again no apologies. She said it will take about 30 mins. About 45mins-1 hr we went to get the order, they couldn't find it then after some time searching all over locates it another maybe another 20 mins. We received very tasteless food. Kids managed to eat some of the pizza. The wings were a waste we ordered hot wings we received BBQ if it were good the kids would have eaten it, they took one bite and rejected it along with garlic knots. I was ready and willing to return the food, but kids too hungry. I feel Fabio's pizza owes me money for food that was not worth...
