So disappointed. Over-priced generic food. I was so excited to eat here. The person who reccomended it to me raved about it. Let's start from the beginning. First we get there and there's signs pointing you away from the front door to a back door to enter. We go around to this door and go in and some crabby waitress greets us by telling us to go to the front (where the door we were originally going to go in was) and someone would seat us. We get seated and order coffee. It costs $2.50 and is mostly water. I could've got a better cup of coffee from a gas station for 1/3 the price. I got the menu and was expecting some good deals since I'm in a small town diner, but everything seemed to cost the same as perkins... some things were even priced higher than Perkins. So then I was thinking "oh well I bet portion sizes are bigger with fresh food vs. Sysco". Wrong again. I got 2 scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and 2 pancakes for 9 dollars. My eggs were just ok. Hashbrowns again were just ok, but the waitress forgot to bring the ketchup we asked for and by the time she got it for us they were cold. But the pancakes were the real disappointment. First they were only slightly bigger than silver dollar pancakes, second there's no way you can convince me they weren't made with bisquick or some sort of mix(i use mixes myself, but my pancakes don't taste like cardboard the way these did). So I am very sorry to say I couldve gotten better tasting food and more of it for the same price if I went a few blocks in a different direction towards perkins! I don't even really like perkins... I'm just using them as an example because most people know what perkins is. Anyhow, so much for being in luck and having a delicious diner up the street...
Read moreEdit: I appreciate the owners feedback and attention to detail in my review. I look forward to visiting next time I’m in town for work.
First the service was incredibly friendly and attentive. We were from out of town, so didn’t 100% know how ordering worked when we got there and staff was happy to help. The photos on Google are a little misleading as everything is shown plated, including wraps and sandwiches but those aren’t made to order and are only available premade in the coolers. They have a small hot grill menu and many cold sandwiches wraps and salads that are pre made that you can grab and go. We were looking for a sit down place, but I didn’t really read the description on Google when I chose this place so partly it is my fault but it wasn’t quite what we were hoping for/expecting— I just looked at the photos and the menu. I’ve been there twice as I was in town twice for work. I was hoping to have a better experience the second time but we got there right after 1 PM so I couldn’t order from the hot grill as apparently it shuts off at 1 PM. I had a salad out of the cooler, which was good. The second time I had a buffalo chicken wrap out of the cooler and it definitely was not my favorite. The lettuce was quite soggy, which I’m sure is just a result of being premade. I ate about half of it. The prices are very reasonable and it worked well for a quick lunch, perfect if you are in a time crunch. It’s very cafeteria style so I can see how students would really like to have this in their town although I haven’t been overly impressed with the food, I would return because the staff was friendly and now I have a better understanding of what type of place it is and would love to try again with...
Read moreIt was my first time here with my Dad and the owner went out of her way to say “Hello” to us and welcomed us to her business, which I thought was really nice and astute of her. Definitely a sweetheart! The employees were really nice too! They genuinely seemed happy to be there, which always makes for a better vibe.
There are two ways you can get your food:
Hot - This means that they make the food and deliver it to your table, or give it to you to-go if you are needing to leave.
Cold - This means that they have food that is basically in a refrigerator. This is perfect for if you have a really short break, but want to get something to eat fast. Just go in, grab what you need, pay, and then you are out the door! Super convenient.
You get to pay before you eat (at a terminal that accepts Apple/Google/Samsung Pay). I love that because if I am eating at the restaurant and I am in a rush, I don’t need to worry about a server being available to pay later. It is also nice to have the assurance that their credit card transactions are safe too.
Atmosphere was great! I loved my order, which was “Classic Breakfast”. The “Seven Layer Bar” dessert and the “Peanut Butter Blossoms” dessert tasted fantastic and certainly took me back to my childhood.
I hope my review encouraged you to give this place a visit if you haven’t checked it out before!
10/10 will...
