Been here several times in the last year. Seems everyone is so happy just to be able to go out now because of years of ‘cooties’, there’s no constructive criticism to give anymore. Also seems like everyone that comes here is either a robot or a daily patron and knows all the beers on tap at Tucks by heart. The tap list is on a chalkboard behind the bar, which you can’t see because the people sitting at the bar and the mugs hanging down on the ceiling, are blocking it. It’s a pretty small place; and for an ‘Ale House’, there is no beer list, no description or rating and the waiter/waitress and even the owner just knows all of them. It makes it weird and uncomfortable and more a problem when you have to ask about every beer. Because some of us like to order something other than a PBR or Bud. A couple times we went the beer we asked for was out in the middle of the day. The food has been ok, small portioned pub food a bit pricey. Beers offered are ok if they have it. We have never really felt welcome any time we go, it’s more of a owners backyard garage locals only type of vibe to us. Like showing up to a party that you weren’t invited to. But there isn’t much to choose from...
Read moreWe started off having a great experience, Very soon after we realized that our bartender did not enjoy her job. She was extremely rude, and did not even hand us our shots. We had to reach across the bar and made us feel very uncomfortable. The food came out in a timely manner and the cook seemed amazing. If you want good food, I would suggest going here but if you want good service, I would suggest going somewhere else. It seemed like as soon as they realize that we were not from Maine they made us feel very uncomfortable. When we asked for the bill, she ended up, throwing it at us basically very rudely. Because we were so happy with our service we asked our bartender to split the tip with the cook and out of an almost $20 tip she proceeded to give her...
Read moreNo need to check out any other bars in Farmington - this is the ONE. Eliza is top notch and was very attentive to our group's needs. My brother and I tested her beer knowledge, tap skills and patience with our flight orders. We were from out of state and it was nice to have all local beers to choose from. Food was excellent and we didn't miss fries or fried food. I tried the Turkey melt special with chips and a side of stuffing. Our group also had the warm pretzel, loaded nachos, burger, and lobster roll. All the dishes were hot, tasty and served up VERY fast. My only "complaint" was the venison jalapeno burger was sold out for the day. Just another reason for us to come back, can't wait to see what new beers are on tap. Great...
