The Downtown Press — Restaurant in Farmington

Update 22Nov24: Three years on, this is still our favorite place for lunch or breakfast. Nice people and really good food.

We stopped in for breakfast . They have a wide variety of fresh baked pasties and specialty breakfast items. We had waffles with bacon. We paid extra for real maple syrup and found out that the portion was so generous that we could have got just one syrup and shared it. The waffles were good, but because they had only one waffle maker, the first one had cooled off a bit. Would recommend getting just one waffle order per table. Coffee was fresh and bold (not watered down). The staff was very friendly and helpful. The venue was spotless and comfortable. Would have given 5 stars if both waffles had been hot.

Vegan friendly café. They have vegan cheese! Yay! Vegan Sandy panini was such a cheezy melty toasty treat. There is also a vegan chkn tenders wrap on the menu. The sweet potato waffle fries are next level. Real hunk of sweet potato waffle ironed and crisped to perfection. Quite literally the best sweet potato fries I've ever had in my life. Seasoned salt sprinkled on them, but they'd be awesome with cinnamon sugar dusted as a sweet treat. Strawberry smoothy slaps, perfect sweet strawberry flavor. Quite a line up of coffee drinks as well. Maple cinnamon sugar cold brew is calling me back very soon! If you have children, there's a small inside play area for them. I've been taking annual trips to Farmington the past 6 years of my life, and every single year this place has been absolutely the best. The past 3 years I've really fallen in love with place. Great atmosphere. Great decor. Amazing vibes. The people here are extremely friendly and even remembered me and my partner from a whole year ago. These people don't skip out on kindness. And oh my the food. The food is absolutely the star of this place, always good, always worth the price. Not to mention, I don't even drink coffee, but I drink Downtown Press Cafe coffee.
