Yume Hibachi Steak and Sushi — Restaurant in Farmington

One star is truly too much for this place. I have been going here for over a year consistently sometimes 2/3 times a week. Before this incident I have never made a complaint. On this particular event the sushi was extremely off putting. We informed the waiter and what came after was nothing short of disrespect. The waiter went to the sushi bar and made several comments to the chefs and laughed about our complaint. We weren't offered a new plate. Additionally, the manager didn’t care to come and address the issue. Instead he spoke loudly from the bar about how we had to pay for a plate that we didn’t eat. After confronting the waiter regarding his behavior we inquired for our bill. The waiter LITERALLY threw the bill infront of me. The manager was disrespectful and completely unbothered. We paid for food that was uneaten. The customer service is beyond terrible. I wouldn’t consider returning to this restaurant if it was free. Have been here a few times and generally it's wonderful, but today they seemed to just drop the ball in a bunch of ways. They directed us to a regular table instead of asking if we wanted hibachi, and then placed us at the end of a group of teens. Understandable since it was only 2 of us, but then they didn't bring drinks until much later, the chef seemed uninterested and forgot the sauces, didn't do the Sake/pretend Sake, and everyone working seemed very flustered. Perhaps they were overwhelmed because there was a bunch of kids who presumably just graduated, but the restaurant also wasn't particularly full. We made a reservation a week in advance for my son's birthday party. We show up for the reservation at 6, and are seated within a few minutes. We then sit and wait for an hour for our chef to start. Not only did they show a total disregard for our reservation and the fact that I had a 2 year old with me who was hungry, but then the chef that eventually did come out gave us a disappointing experience. He barely looked up from his grill, worked almost completely in silence, did the bare minimum of interaction, and overcooked some of the meat so much that we couldn't eat it.
