We were a party of 4, 2 couples, and the server took 3 of our orders and walked away without taking the 4th. Each entré came out separately, approximately 15-20 minutes apart. The salmon with jerk seasoning was actually BBQ sauce, and when the server finally returned to our table and I explained the wrong sauce was on the fish, he immediately said it would not be taken off the bill. I explained that wasn't what I wanted as I was hungry even though everyone had finished their meal. He reiterated it would not be taken off the final bill and walked away without further explanation. He came back several minutes later and asked if we were ready for the check. I asked for the bill to be separated by a couple, and he again said he wasn't removing the meal--which I said I hadn't asked for--and again asked for the check. He told our party he'd asked if we'd wanted to taste any of the sauces when we ordered. I said that I didn't want to argue, just the checks. He said he wasn't talking to me. I said I was going outside then, and he ran to the front door, locked it, and stood in front of it. The rest of my party was still at the table. He said I couldn't leave without paying, and I said I'd asked for the check twice, and he refused. He threatened to call the police and I said he was more than welcome to. We spoke to another employee who identified himself as a manager, and the 4 of us explained what had happened and wanted the check. He said the sauce is a jerk BBQ but could make it savory. We said that was never offered, and the server/manager refused to say anything other than my meal had to be paid for. I walked out and sat in the car while my boyfriend and the other couple spoke with the owner. According to them the BBQ and jerk sauces look similar and our server should have checked with the kitchen. He removed my meal from the check but added a gratuity even though we were a party of 4. Will NOT be returning!
To address the accusation of violence, at no point did I place a finger in anyone's face, invade the server's personal space, use profanity, or threaten to take any action to harm another person. Your claim is slanderous and cannot be corroborated by anyone in the restaurant. The sauce on the salmon was BBQ sauce. The wrong sauce is a mistake easily addressed and rectified. Civilly. I never requested the dish be removed from the bill. I could easily contest it with my credit card company later. Without provocation, there was no need for the server to behave in such an appalling way! I asked for the check TWICE. He refused to get it and then spoke to me in such a derogatory way that I chose to remove myself from the situation. I came to enjoy a meal and spend time with the people I was with, not be harassed over poor service and food prepared the way I...
Read moreThis review was based on our experience on Mothers Day and I feel the need to share our experience. We went in and was not greeted by anyone. The sign say to sit yourself so we did. We sat in a booth area and for over 30 min was not approached by anyone. The 2 lady waitresses saw us and ignored us. My mom asked the both can we at least get water and we was ready to pace our order. Both girls said someone will be with us shortly. After waiting an hour I was done, but my mom insisted we give them a chance to redeem themselves. Side note: this day was hot as heck, and the place had no AC! I don’t know how I bared staying here. I saw those girls serve every table but us. After talking to the owner 2x we finally got him to assign a bartender to help us. The bartender was nice and apologetic, felt pitty for us and took our orders. All while larger groups came in afterwards and got their food before us. At this point I was not pleased. We sat there for nearly 2.5 hrs no air before getting our food. After finishing our meals and got our check we requested a service discount because we literally had to beg for service and was displeased after seeing others come in after us getting immediate service. The bartender asked the owner, and he declined! Not even a 5-10% discount, yet we ordered $100 worth of food. Instead he offered free drinks from the bar! We don’t even drink alcohol plus we already paid for drinks with our food!!! His reason was the other people had to wait too but came back, however that does not justify why absolutely no one came to help us! We stayed, they didn’t. We could’ve left and never returned. This place will not last long if they continue this poor customer service. Train your hostesses to greet and serve. The whole time I felt we should’ve left to go to the Mexican restaurant or Kiku across the street, but I wanted to support yet another BOB. I will not be coming back.
Update to the owner: This place has been on my radar to share since I had family in town looking for a place eat this past weekend. Therefore, I can make a review anytime I feel because I spent my MONEY at your place! Instead of calling me names, take some accountability. As I stated we could’ve LEFT from the beginning we waited over 2 hours or we could’ve LEFT without pay. You’ll need to practice customer service skills, first start training your hostesses then work on communication skills. Good...
Read moreThe appetizers here were absolutely delicious! Everything tasted fresh and they have a happy hour on the weekends! The catfish bites and the wings had to be the best part! The music is really loud but honestly most Caribbean spots are going to have the music booming so it didn’t bother me. Now where we ran into issues was with the service. So when we first sat down we could see our server going back and forth with another employee about not wanting to take our table. The restaurant was practically empty and it was early in the day so I am unsure as to why that was. When she finally did arrive she didn’t tell us about the specials or give any description of the menus so I had to use google to find out about the happy hour and what they had to offer. Then, when it was time to order entrees I asked for the oxtail plate with rice and peas and my husband ordered the jerk salmon. After about 20 minutes the food came out and only my husband’s food was delivered and I figured they were still working on mine. An additional 20 minutes goes by and we flag her down and inquire about my food and her response was “what food?” I told her I asked for the oxtail plate and she claimed she never heard me, offered no apology, then put the order in. Another 20 minutes goes by she brings out oxtail fried rice. I told her this wasn’t what I asked for and sent the plate back. I left the restaurant with no food and it affected my experience which was disappointing because the cocktails and appetizers were phenomenal. I’m on the fence about returning but I think I’m willing to give it...
