Been here twice since opening. The space is cute, clean, and instagrammable. The employees could work on customer service a bit. They weren't super friendly, and some seemed confused about their own menu, but perhaps that will change with time. I also found it annoying that even if three or more employees were in the store, only one would be dealing with actual customers, which led to even longer wait times.
The drinks are overpriced and overly sweet (I usually request less sugar). The menu consisted almost entirely of "specialty" drinks. There weren't a lot of options for regular teas or more standard drinks. Also wish they'd offer non-dairy milk. Flavor-wise, the drinks I ordered were fine. Not bad, but not too exciting either. Pretty much what I expected from drinks made from processed powders and syrups. What bothered me most was that half of their drinks were "yogurt smoothies." When I get a yogurt drink from a boba tea shop, I'd expect the yogurt to be the Asian probiotic drink, such as Yakult. But the yogurt used here was just standard American yogurt, which is disappointing and made Fruity Boba seem too westernized. If I wanted a regular yogurt smoothie, I'd get a healthy drink at one of the many juice bars in town...
After living in New York City, my standards for bubble tea shops are higher than they should be for Fayetteville. I'm not saying I wouldn't visit Fruity Boba again for a treat, but there are certainly aspects I...
Read moreThis place is not customer friendly at all!! First, no one is greeting you, taking your order or talking to you. There is a self-service kiosk where you place your order. You can’t ask questions about any of the options, because the girl who makes drinks wouldn’t even turn her face towards customers. Yet, the default tip option is set at 15%.. Some flavors are ok, honeydew for instance, but honestly strawberry doesn’t even taste like strawberry. Today we ordered grapefruit flavor which tasted disgusting. We took a sip, then went back in to return it, or exchange for something else because it looked and tasted terrible.
The girl behind the counter was extremely rude and said “you get what you get, no refunds.” I tried to explain that there was no way I could know how it would taste until I tried it. She then pointed at a piece of paper with the store policy stating no refund policy. I’m still in shock that there are food places in America where you can’t return a drink that literally...
Read moreThe tea is fine but employees/owners of this establishment are extremely out of touch with standards of professional etiquette that are typical of the region. I consider having a work related exchange in a foreign language to be 100% par for the course and appropriate, but to heartily laugh and giggle while having a 5minute plus exchange in a foreign langauge, all while appearantly moving very slow pace preparing orders for a room full of customers, is blantanly unprofessional. If something is so worthy of discussing that me and 4 other people are literally watching one of you just stand there and do nothing but laugh, while the other moves quite slowly, then please have the discussion in english, so that as customers we can possibly begin to relate to why we are being served so slowly and with such minimal attentiveness. Both individuals responded to customers in fluent english without so much as a strong accent, so this was optional rude behavior and not sensible or...
