Friday evening was our first time visiting The Trilith hotel and trying out this restaurant. I’ll start with a positive note - the drinks were amazing, and the Brussels sprouts, like none I’ve never had- WOW. Unfortunately, my experience shifts negative past that. Let me rewind, as we were walking into the building, there was a gentleman very loudly on the phone, talking with vulgar language and carrying himself very oddly. I was so embarrassed because I had a client with me. We carried inside nonetheless. We explored the beautiful hotel , grabbed a drink and a quick bite and enjoyed conversation and scenery. It was great - well, until it was no more. The same gentleman that was outside, who we later learned was a manager of the hotel, Michael , was seen and heard yelling at other staff memebers inside while we and other guests were enjoying ourselves. I couldn’t believe that this individual was a manager of such a nice caliber place like this?? And how such unprofessionalism would be allowed?! I was embarrassed for everyone in that room. Our time was taken away from because the environment shifted with the scene he caused. We then overheard people who worked there saying they were sorry to the other worker he caused a scene at, and others saying they were so uncomfortable by him but that he always acted in such a way. I felt so bad. My client felt so bad. It was so tacky. I could have been at The Waffle House and not a fine dining establishment like so, sure felt like it. The bartender and other gentleman, which I believe was also a manager, given his interaction recovered to the best of their abilities and tried to shift the experience but by then, it was just stained. I wish I would have gotten their names because they did try to turn things around. It just was a beautiful night turned yucky. I don’t know what to say past that. I just hope this review serves as a notice for managment at this hotel to recognizes this sore immediately. People from all over come to Trilith, mostly by word or mouth and are looking for a professional, calm, classy environment, and this individual did not portray that.. not even close. We hope to come back in the future. But for now, I’m still shocked that such lack of manager skills and professionalism would be allowed in a place like Trilith. Would hate for a place of such goodness to go under. So, as a charge… Keep the dang good Brussels sprouts, and clean out the bad...
Read moreThis was a first visit to Trilith Guest House. Every encounter from the valet to our server was pleasant and professional which we found so refreshing in today's world. The valet, whose name I didn't get (sadly) greeted us with a honest smile. We used handicapped parking so didn't need his service. However, when we left I noticed a napkin stuck to my shoe and he removed it for me! This was really nice because I use a cane and was having difficulty. Mr. Valet noticed and immediately came to my rescue! When we came through the hotel everyone smiled at us and said hello. Regina noticed we were visibly lost, approached us and asked to help. Even guided us to the restaurant instead of just pointing and mumbling direction. Something I really dislike. She "went the extra mile". Emmy was Hostess and couldn't have been kinder or friendly. She sat us and poured our water. Another pet peeve of mine is being treated like a product on a damn assembly line! Definitely not, on Emmy's shift. Cudos, my dear you aced it! Our server, Julie came over and welcomed us as well, with menus and suggestions about specialty drinks and menu items. Professional, friendly, neat, clean. She could answer our questions about Trelis and it's services. Congrats to Julie, too! You're the best!! Michael, stopped by our table to check on us and his warm welcome, enthusiasm with bright smile really made our day! Hats off to you, sir! What a doll! Our drinks were excellent with obvious skill and care. Couldn't have been better. Regina took the time to let us know how they were blended. I was trying a type of tequila drink new to me and was uncertain. What a nice thing for her to do! Our dinner arrived and, wow! Just perfection on all levels. So good. We enjoyed it all. I want to thank you all for showing my husband and I such a good time last night. All of you are going the extra mile and impressing everyone, whether you know it or not. Keep up the good work, my dears! I hope you know what exceptions you are as well as special. Cannot wait to come back soon!
Kindest regards from Carmine and Janet...
Read moreHad our business Christmas dinner here. Had reservations at 6:15 pm. Arrived and were seated on time. Took about 15 mins for anyone to come to our table. When our waitress finally came to the table she offered us water and then left, didn’t ask for drink orders or appetizers. Another 10 mins went by and she finally came back, took our drink and appetizers order. A table behind us went to the bar and came back with drinks, while ours took what seemed like forever to get our drinks and the appetizers took even longer. Once the drinks and appetizers showed up they were very good. We put in our main course orders, I ordered the filet that came with Brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes which I switched for the smashed fingerling potatoes. While waiting on our food two different tables sat down and were not served and both tables ended up leaving. Another table behind us got there food before us even thought they ordered after us, also the steak they ordered was prepared wrong and they had to send it back. Once our order arrived, I noticed that they put broccolini on my plate and basically just fingerling potatoes because none of them where smashed and where very plain. Then I cut into my steak and it was well done and I had ordered medium. Once I made the waitress aware of the issues they took my plate. About 15 minutes later they brought it back with Brussels and the steak cooked perfectly. The steak was very good and the Brussels where some of the best I’ve had. Its so disappointing that the food was so good but service was very disappointing, other then the steak and Brussels which wasn’t on the waiting staff. It ended up being around 8:45 by the time we left. Over two hours for 4 people to eat is pretty bad. Hopefully they address these issues but I see there was another review about the staff that was two weeks ago and obviously nothing has changed. Oh and like in the other review, we had staff bring the wrong food to our table like they didn’t know what the table...
